We blinked and our sweet baby boy turned one. A whole year filled with so much love, laughter, cuddles, and more happiness than we ever imagined possible. Happy Birthday, Eli!!!
Yesterday Emily & I had the pleasure of taking Eli to the Big House!
My grandpa Chet used to take my dad, and his brother, Mike, here to Michigan home games growing up. A tradition both eventually continued with their sons, as now *their* sons have after them.
Growing up in Chicagoland, my trips to Ann Arbor were more seldom than my dad’s had been, and we watched nearly every Saturday from home, but I think this made each visit all the more special. Even though Eli likely won’t remember the experience, I hope, as we return (with Grandpa Ted), that these trips are just as special to Eli as they were to me.
Fun fact: my first Michigan game, almost 24 years ago, was actually with my uncle Mike, and cousin Ryan. Both of whom were there yesterday, bringing Ryan’s son, Cruz, to *his* first game. Meeting up with all of them, and getting to share in the experience, made it all the more memorable.
Go Blue!
6 months of Eli Carter! We are happy beyond words. Even so, our happiness doesn’t come close to the pure joy that radiates from the face of our smart, strong, observant, and handsome boy when he smiles! We didn’t know our hearts could grow so big, but we love him more with every passing day.
Huge thanks to auntie @lillerthatisme for the photos! Time moves quickly, and moments like these are fleeting. So if you want them captured beautifully, call @lillerphoto !
Someone decided we needed a little more love in our lives this Valentine’s Day:
Eli Carter Miller was born 2/13/25 at 9:40am. He is 7lb 1oz, and 20in. Mom & baby are healthy, and doing great. Meanwhile, mom & dad enjoyed sushi for the first time in nine months. Welcome to our world, Eli. We thank God for the gift that you are, and cannot wait to see the amazing person He shapes you into!
Today officially marks five years of marriage, and we’re celebrating with the best gift we could have possibly imagined: Baby Miller, arriving March 2025!

Whew… a LOT has changed since the last time I posted on here.
Over the last ten months I have: bought a house, joined a second band, ruined some film, recorded some music, bought a car, played a lot of shows, shaved my mustache for the first time in 10 years & grew it back, and a whole bunch of other stuff in between.
What HASN’T changed is that I’m still out there taking eerie, grainy, film photos for no good reason.
When I first drove past this weird gas-station-turned-MCM-office on my way to band practice, I knew I had to get it on film before they realized their lights stayed on 24/7. Froze my hands off taking some long exposures in windy 30° weather, but I’d say it was worth it.
Scroll to the end for some accidental multi-exposures!

I haven’t posted in a while, mostly because some really cool things have demanded a lot of my attention over the last couple months. Also because I have multiple half-shot rolls of film in multiple cameras from over the summer, that I need to finish shooting.
Fall is of course a season of change and of the end of things. So while I’m grateful for the wonderful things in my life that remain the same (faith, marriage, job, etc)… In honor of fall, I’d like you to enjoy these moody black & white photos that I’ve never shared before; taken on a camera I no longer own; of the porch of a home in which I no longer live; developed by a film lab that will, sadly, cease to exist in a couple weeks.

Over the years I’ve shot so many random rolls of film that, for one reason or another, I never had developed. I found one of these a couple weeks ago, with no idea when I’d shot it, or what was on it. I was rewarded with these photos of a beautiful autumn sunset on Lake Michigan that @omgitsemilyc and I witnessed back in 2015. Such a cool find!

Even when I’m just flying through, even if only for just a few minutes, it’s always great to be back in Chicago.
