We're very happy to announce that we're going to do a sidequest-show at @footnote.gallery curated by @sofie.middernacht ! Swing by the 15th of may ! Thank you for this opportunity "PETIT DEJEUNER SUR L'HERBE" SIDEQUEST is a multidisciplinary collective of artists and designers from diverse backgrounds, dedicated to exploring alternative creative experiments beyond their individual main practices. By merging their distinct strengths and perspectives, they develop holistic environments that take shape through graphic explorations, furniture, textiles, installations, and hybrid forms that resist easy categorization. Positioned as contemporary magicians, they approach making as a process of transformation and play, with a body of work that spans collaborations with art institutions as well as contributions to music festivals and cultural platforms. Operating fluidly at the intersection of art and design, SIDEQUEST continuously redefines the boundaries between function, narrative, and experience. For this exhibition, two members of the collective, Niels Raoul Boone and Victor Verhelst, bring their worlds together in a shared spatial composition. In Petit Déjeuner sur l’Herbe, their mutual fascination with expressive, unconventional furniture forms is brought into dialogue with a deep appreciation for textile craftsmanship and material sensitivity. The exhibition unfolds as an immersive domestic landscape, where objects, textures, and gestures invite a slower mode of engagement. It evokes the intimacy of a living room, yet carries a sense of theatricality and openness, encouraging visitors to linger, gather, and inhabit the space as if it were their own. Somewhere between installation and interior, it becomes a place not only to observe, but to dwell, to connect, and even to imagine the simple act of sharing a picnic within an imagined everyday scene. Therefore, we are immensely pleased to receive appreciation for it. ———————————— The jury on the book: The book Fever Dream is compelling, with its extreme power and maximalist approach. The multiplicity and excess are not weaknesses, but the strength of the whole: a total experience in which the sum is more than the parts. Its elaboration is thorough and spectacular.
