Organized as nine interconnected pavilions, the museum required innovative solutions using steel, concrete, and mass timber to create long spans, flexible gallery spaces, and seamless integration with the existing campus.
The project reflects how engineering expertise can help shape spaces that are both high-performing and welcoming, designed to adapt, endure, and enrich the visitor experience for years to come.

This World Health Day, we’re highlighting the new Sabará Children’s Hospital in São Paulo, designed by @perkinswill_br . Planned to become the largest pediatric complex in Latin America, the hospital will support up to 130,000 appointments annually, with 120 inpatient beds and 60 ICU beds dedicated to complex pediatric care.
Grounded in the understanding that children are still growing and developing, the design creates spaces that go beyond treatment—supporting families, encouraging play and learning, and fostering well-being for patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals alike.
With completion set for 2027, Sabará reflects how thoughtful design can contribute to healthier futures.
