Hey everybody, I'm getting used to the function and feel of Procreate, and am doing more personal work on it to feel things out even more. Here are a few of my little people showing us that you're never too young to speak out. One of my favorite things in illustration is to follow #ownvoices and to see all of the stories that are at once individual but also collective. This little spot is how I'm processing the diversity and unity in these calls for reform. The little guy being carried in the wagon is my take on Peter from Snowy Day. His presence made it possible for the other 3 little people to exist, so, along with ownvoices, I'm going to add the tag #ourvoices ✌🏾 👊🏾💓🔥 #illustration #Kidlitart #weneeddiversebooks #blacklivesmatter

I was lucky enough to be part of Love Luggage: Illustrators Unite for Foster Kids with @unclaimedbag and the Society of Illustrators, in recognition of National Foster Care Month. I joined an amazing group of illustrators in creating art by transforming luggage. I was thinking about how scary a feeling it must be to enter a new home and how much of a journey traveling through doors can be. I tried to make something that softened that moment and opened the possibility for special new adventures. Too many of our young people in the foster care system don’t even have luggage to carry their belongings, furthering feelings of instability. Hopefully this exhibit and this program can ease some of that. ✨❤️ #illustration #childrensbookillustration #kidlitart #nationalfostercaremonth #loveluggage

I’m excited to be part of Love Luggage: Illustrators Unite for Foster Kids with @unclaimedbag and the Society of Illustrators this Saturday, May 2 from 11am-3pm. Stop by for this special community event in recognition of National Foster Care Month, where we’re transforming luggage into something meaningful. I’ll be creating a one-of-a-kind suitcase live alongside a group of incredible illustrators. You can even pick up a brush - guests of all ages are invited to help paint suitcases that will be donated directly to foster youth. Hope to see you there! Saturday, May 2 11:00am - 3:00pm Society of Illustrators (@soi128 ) Free + open to the public! ~~Via SOI~~

@tuckahoelibraryny was kind enough to host me for a Storytime reading of my book, “Home, Home.” I showed up with some Frooti and Parle-G and found that Florence and the other lovely librarians really went above and beyond with other South Indian treats for our guests. Also, @gatherpaperandclay provided copies of my book for signed copies. After a brief talk about “Home, Home” and the illustration process, I read my book and did a little drawing activity with the kids. Thank you, Tuckahoe Library! ✌🏾✨ #kidlitart #childrensbookillustration #librarybooks #librarian #penguinrandomhouse

Sibu T.P. (@sibutp ) is a storyteller. Through illustrating and writing, he tells stories that aren’t often told, whether they be cultural or societal. They are rich, colourful, and touch on universal issues through specific, small details. He works through the belief that everyone is connected through shared relationships, emotions, and the small moments in life that are captured in his illustrations. Born and raised in New York, Sibu is a first-generation child of immigrants from southern India. He spent a great deal of his childhood scribbling, sketching, dreaming, and imagining. Sibu received his BA in English literature at Stony Brook University and his MFA in illustration at the Hartford Art School. When he’s not in front of a drawing board, he’s got a camera in tow, taking pictures while hiking, and running from squirrels. Sibu is represented by @burns.james , take a look at his full portfolio on the Bright website. Link in our bio! #ChildrensIllustration #BrightArtist #KidLitArt

This past week, @soi128 honored me by bringing me in for Winter Art Week 2026✨ I spent the morning talking with these little Rembrandts, and we paid homage to Black History Month by painting some portraits. ✨ Really fun time, super grateful for the opportunity to connect with the community! 🎨✨❤️ #kidlitart #societyofillustrators #portraiture #acrylicpaint #illustration
