Shuttle Store This is a café and bar I opened in Hangzhou, named Shuttle Store. Located in a neighborhood, we specialize in hand-brewed coffee and craft beer. Every coffee bean and beer is carefully selected—we hope you’ll find something you love. Occasionally, we also host live performances and film screenings. Visitors from all over the world are welcome! In an era where everything seems within reach yet strangely hazy, how do we break through the virtual haze and grasp the moments of clarity that can still emerge between people? Perhaps the answer lies in the gateways we pass through day after day. None of this ends when you arrive—as the sun sets, the feast under the illusory tree has just begun. ”Shuttle“ means to journey back and forth, moving through gateways into different worlds to encounter oneself. We blend coffee, film, alcohol, and music into one, making everything feel more alive. We’re never in a rush, yet always hopeful for something to unfold. Outcomes are merely a form—what matters is letting everything happen. The logo concept originates from a fingerprint, borrowing the shape of the Chinese character for ”gateway“ (门) to create an abstract pattern inspired by fingerprint ridges. A fingerprint is the mark left by a fingertip’s touch—a trace of human contact, a tangible proof of connection with others. This imagery emphasizes the human-centered scene of the ”gateway.“ The design is an open-ended abstract symbol: it could be a fingerprint, a tree ring, a wisp of cloud, or a swirl of mist. This open concept echoes the subtle relationship between ”gateway“ (a spatial noun) and ”shuttle“ (a verb). Symbol, noun, and verb interact to create a poetic beauty that transcends literal translation. Opening Hours: Monday: Closed Tuesday–Sunday: 14:00–2:00 Address: 1st Floor, Oxy Apartments Hushu South Road Branch (near the South Gate of Hushu Residential Quarter) 地址:氧气公寓湖墅南路店1楼(近湖墅新村南1门)

Everything began at last Shuangda Festival during our Sonic Pilgrimage China Tour. When @kaob_music was playing, two young people dancing all the time in front of me. Afterwards, one of them told me he was the owner of a cozy cafe/bar in Hangzhou called @shuttlestore_ , a place where plays art films and organizes indie gigs. He told me he was organzing events following the Solar Terms. And I told him I released albums following the Solar Terms. Last Winter Solstice, we began to organize a new series called Equinox Root: Awakening Calendar together at Shuttle Store. So far, we have celebrated together three solar terms: Winter Solstice with @xiakeofficial Minor Cold with @burntale_ucr Beginning of Spring with @Pangolea Now, Shuttle Store will be three years old. Three producers, @djshaman8 @milam.music @pangoleamusic , who have released or will release EPs on Autumn Equinox, and myself, will play on their outdoor camping anniversary party on May 23 with a bunch of great local artists, and the afterparty on May 24, as well as a special episode of Equinox Pulse with our friends @kai6jk14 and @lio3qian . Dance to the whisper of the wind, a little contentment is all you need. Xia Ke

4.5 | Qingming Festival: ”Xiaohui & Kurosawa: Seep“ Free Admission Performance DATE⏰ 2026.4.5丨8:30pm-10:15pm TICKETE🎫 Free Line-Up🧟‍♂️ 小灰 @ack3r_hui 黑泽 @intothe_haze Style Ambient丨Dark Ambient For me, spring is wonderfully bright when the weather is good. But most of the time, it feels gloomy, often with drizzling rain. Especially this spring, with so much going on, it feels even more so. That’s why I’ve arranged two sets of music with different moods for this Qingming Festival, to express the two contrasting sides of spring. This time we welcome Kurosawa, a long-term resident of Shanghai. ”The world lies in ruins; let us dance upon it.“ With innovation and provocation, he pushes the boundaries of consciousness. His disorienting sound awakens listeners naturally. With deep psychedelic vibes and constant experimentation of thought and rhythm, he takes the audience on an inner cosmic odyssey. His music is a nighttime command that flows into the ear, weaving essential sounds through the auditory nerve into the brain. It opens all senses, amplifying dreams, illusions and meditations. If time in our dimension surges like an ocean,Kurosawa is the cold, firm guide leading you into the unknown within impermanence. It is an unrepeatable dream, and at the last note, you return to your true self. And Xiao Hui, who is based in Hangzhou, will also present a set of ambient music. He blends traditional instruments with DIY gear, merging noise and melody. Each performance centers on one core motif, exploring the possibilities of experimental music in modern contexts.Across different environments and moments, we produce sounds that are alike yet subtly distinct.

April 4 | Qingming Festival: ”Rising Sun: Beyond the Boundary“ – Free Admission Show DATE⏰ 2026.4.4丨8:30pm-9:30pm TICKETE🎫 Free Line-up 旭阳Xu Yang This is a solo improvisation that starts from the “self.” The sound is not predetermined, does not seek completion, nor does it attempt to point toward any clear expression. The performance is more like an occurrence—a dialogue with oneself, a resonance with the environment in the present space, touching upon what remains undefined between emergence and dissolution. “Boundaries” arise from technique and structure, as well as from habit and experience. Yet within improvisation, these boundaries gradually blur: sound is no longer merely an object to be controlled, nor is the individual the sole center. Person, space, and time begin to interweave and permeate one another. This performance attempts to let the process itself be seen. It does not present a result, but rather reveals a state—how to unfold in solitude, how to loosen the self within sound, and how to extend toward a broader perception. In a space like a gate passage—suspended between inside and outside—sound flows and also lingers. The audience are both observers and, naturally, become part of the process. This is an exercise in “stepping beyond boundaries.” ”Xu Yang has been trying out different things. On April 11th, he will head to the Chengdu Chunyou Music Festival and perform with Yang Wude and Kun at the Xichunlin Stage. Everyone is welcome to come and experience a different kind of atmosphere.“ ”The sound of the steel tongue drum is clean, clear, and ethereal. I feel it gives me more room for imagination—like raindrops falling into a pond, like wind chimes swaying, like someone murmuring softly. This performance is more like a conversation created through sound. On this late spring evening, let the sound of the steel tongue drum spread throughout the space, leading us on a journey through sound. As the sound flows through our bodies, perhaps we will gradually relax.“

3.21 | Spring Equinox · The Black Bird Arrives [Autumnal Equinox Origin · Awakening Calendar: Pangolea] DATE⏰ 2026.3.21| 21:00pm-00:00am TICKETE🎫 Free Line-Up💆‍♂️ 赵一苇Kevin Zhao @pangoleamusic Style Organic House | Downtempo | Ethnic | Tribal | Celestial Ethnotronic Peach blossoms begin to bloom, thunder rumbles forth, hibernating insects emerge from the soil, and swallows (dark birds) return home in spring. The new seasonal series ”Awakening Calendar“ by the record label Autumn Equinox @autumnequinoxlabel is another profound exploration of our ”rooted in solar terms“ philosophy following the ”Journey of Sounds“ tour. This is a sonic calendar to be heard, guided by ancient Eastern wisdom. At the turning points of each solar term, through Downtempo and world fusion electronic music, it constructs an acoustic field that connects the rhythms of nature with inner awareness. With the arrival of the Spring Equinox, the dark birds return, thunder rumbles, and lightning begins to flash. The first signs of life emerging in this season are brought by the dark birds—traveling across mountains and seas, through warmth and cold, across memory and bloodline—returning home. For this Equinox Root, we welcome exactly such a dark bird: Pangolea, a Chinese-American producer with deep roots in the East. His music carries the dust of distant lands, yet remains tethered by an unbroken arc from the depths of his lineage. On this Spring Equinox, he will unfold a soundscape of return. No matter how far one flies, there is always a node—a point in time—that guides the dark bird home. After a long rest, The Doorway is finally hosting its first real party. As the weather warms, it’s time to shake off the stillness and stretch into the season. Move to the rhythms we know by heart, let go of all that weighs you down, and step lightly into the beauty of spring. There‘s no cover charge this time—spring is too lovely to worry about ”where to wake from wine tonight.“ Just come lose yourself in the music and the moment with us.

3.20丨Spring Equinox「Cuke & Cai Lan Bing: Green Shoots Rise again」 DATE⏰ 2026.3.20 | 20:30pm TICKETE🎫 Early Bird 28 Door 38 Line-Up👥 蔡澜冰 @cailanbingb 黄瓜@Cuke Style🎹🪈 World music、Synthesizer folk、Punk Cuke said, ”The essence of sound is not the sound itself, but the space.“ I couldn’t agree more. In the doorway, so often it‘s music that brings us all together. We listen to all kinds of music in different settings—it’s such a magical thing that never fails to surprise you. It‘s a unique kind of sonic chemistry that happens between sound and space. I’m really glad that this year, we can continue to make some noise. This show is also meant to make up for last year‘s regret—a glass of wine was spilled on Bingbing’s keyboard, which cut our collaboration short. Since then, we never really had another chance to put this show together—maybe we‘ve all been too busy, maybe life just moves too fast, or maybe the timing wasn’t right. This time, we set and reset the date many times, and finally settled on March 20th. It wasn‘t until later that I realized—Bingbing’s show last year was around the same time. Maybe that‘s some kind of magical connection. Back then, I had just returned from Xiangbala with Cucumber, and after the show, we joined in some improvisation and kept at it until morning. Even now, that memory is still fresh. So for me, this is both a reunion and a new beginning. The theme ”Spring returns, life renews“ naturally came to mind—maybe it’s a bit humble, but it feels deeply grounded. I asked DeepSeek what ”Spring returns, life renews“ feels like, and it told me: It‘s like an old friend gently patting you on the shoulder, without saying much to comfort you—just pointing toward the greening field in the distance, letting you know: ”See? Everything will be alright.“ No matter how long and silent the bitter winter, it will eventually give way to the gentle touch of spring. Catch you at the show.

Yesterday, @music_for_hiccups and Wami @___ma.wi___ gave us an absolutely brilliant performance. It was our first show after the Chinese New Year. We didn’t expect so many people to show up—and everyone listened with such sincere attention. We also hadn‘t anticipated that these two acts would bring us such a Surprising performance. The sound floated freely through every corner of the space, as if leading us on an extraterrestrial journey. The final part was an improvisation by all four musicians. C told me it was their first time playing together, and by the end, I think they had truly found one another. Thank you to the four artists. @nicolalancerotti @chiarabacci__ @danielemartini77 @franziska_windisch
