Some invitations carry weight. This is one of them.
Thereâs something special about Jack Yates High Schoolâa legacy of resilience, culture, and excellence rooted deep in Houston. Being invited to be part of this conference isnât just another appearance; itâs an opportunity to step into a space where young minds are being shaped and futures are being defined.
Iâm genuinely excited about whatâs ahead. The chance to connect, share, and contribute to students who are standing at the edge of their own possibilities means a lot. Itâs a privilege to pour into the students of Jack Yates here in Houston, just as weâve impacted thousands of students globally through the work of SA Photo Academy.
Moments like this remind me why we do what we doâbecause one conversation, one spark, one session can shift a life.
Looking forward to it. Stay with me on this journey.
8 Things Clients Actually Care About
Photographers often obsess over gear. Clients? They focus on something else entirely. 1. Reliability â Show up. On time. Every time. Trust is built in small moments. 2. Talent â Theyâre not hiring a camera; theyâre hiring your eye. Develop your visual intelligence. 3. Experience â Confidence comes from having âbeen here before.â It wins bookings. 4. Equipment â Gear reassures, but itâs not the first question. Always be prepared. 5. Communication â The shoot is 20% of the work; how you communicate is 80%. 6. Consistency â One great shot is luck; great work every time is professionalism. 7. Professionalism â Itâs not about your outfit; itâs about making clients feel safe in your hands. 8. Results â Let your images speak first. Work that delivers sells itself.

2 Limiting Beliefs Killing Your Growth
âIâm not ready.â
âThe market is saturated.â
Both are excuses.
After years of mentoring creatives, Iâve seen itâpeople donât lack skill, they lack execution.
Youâll never feel ready. Start anyway.
The market isnât saturatedâonly sameness is.
Youâve been trained. Youâve been equipped.
Now? Show up. Post. Create. Repeat.
No more waiting. No more excuses.

Donât make the mistake I made.
$400 worth of equipment â damaged and gone. đ„Č
But on the bright side?
The images were FIRE đ„ and I ended up creating even better content at the Porsche Center in Atlanta, Georgia for the same client.
Sometimes you lose⊠sometimes you learn.
Hereâs what this shoot taught me đđœ
Lessons I learned:
1. If you can, donât shoot solo.
I know you want to save money, especially on passion or collaboration shoots â but having one extra person can save you from costly mistakes. That small expense is worth the peace of mind.
2. Use a studio â and have the client pay for it.
Controlled environments = fewer risks.
If a client wants professional results, a professional space should be part of the budget, else you need to make provision for damages.
3. Always factor risk into your pricing.
Your rate isnât just for time â it covers experience, responsibility, and potential loss. Price accordingly.
4. Protect your gear like itâs already gone.
Insurance, backups, safer setups â donât wait until after something happens to take this seriously.
5. Take the L, then level up.
Losses hurt, but lessons last longer. Apply what you learn and come back sharper every time.
6. Insurance:
This cover for unforeseen circumstances as this .
Donât make the mistakes I made , share this with a friend.
If this helped you, save it â or share it with a creative who needs to hear this đŻ

Golden Jubilee hits differently for everyone
Some people turn 50.
Others arrive at 50 â bold, grounded, radiant, and fully in their season.
If youâre this cool at 50, then you rock⊠no debates needed đ
This is what confidence looks like when itâs backed by faith, experience, and favor.
When you stop to count your blessings, you realize God has been most kind to us all. Every year adds wisdom, every chapter adds depth â and this one? Pure gold.
đž As a Houston, Texas photographer, I love telling stories like this â celebrating legacy, strength, and the beauty of becoming.

MARTEL x ANĂKĂLĂPĂ PREMIERE
Elegance isnât announced â itâs felt. And on this remarkable night, Martel brought French sophistication to the heart of cinema.
At the AnĂkĂșlĂĄpĂł premiere, the lights, the fashion, and the energy spoke of pure excellence, while Martel delivered its signature experience: smooth, refined, and unmistakably premium.
Guests came for the film, but discovered something more â the timeless allure of a drink crafted with French mastery since 1715.
A golden pour.
A warm, lingering sip.
Moments transformed into celebration.
While the story unfolded on screen, Martel created its own in every lounge, on every carpet, and in every toast shared by icons and creators.
A night of culture.
A night of elegance.
A night elevated by Martel.
Hereâs to refinement â and unforgettable experiences. đ·

Happy World Photography Day! âšđž
Today, we celebrate more than just an art formâwe celebrate a way of seeing, feeling, and preserving life. Photography is not just about pointing a camera and capturing an image; itâs about freezing emotions, telling stories, and giving memories a voice that lasts beyond a lifetime.
As a creative photographer and mentor, Iâve had the privilege of guiding hundreds of aspiring photographersâwatching them grow from curious beginners to confident creatives making their mark across continents. Iâve seen how photography can transform lives, create opportunities, and build careers out of pure passion.
To my fellow photographersâwhether you are just starting out or have spent decades behind the lensâremember: every photo you take carries the power to inspire, to move hearts, and to tell stories that words often cannot.
On this World Photography Day, let us celebrate not just our craft, but our role as storytellers, educators, and dreamers. Letâs continue to capture moments that matter, and empower the next generation of creatives to do the same.
đ· Hereâs to creativity, passion, and the incredible journey of photography.
