An old drawing of mine, an impression of swimming in the lake in Russia and staring directly at the sun. Face half way submerged, the cool fresh water is cutting right under the eyes and the bright midday sun is reflecting in million colors of the silvery mercury like surface.
This one still till very special to me because it the first time I let go of the expectation and drew just for fun, just for myself and felt liberated!
Vorya’73
Scans of my grandma’s photos with her bird Vorya, from the summer of 1973. She found Vorya (short for Vorona - Russian for “crow”) away from its nest, not yet able to fly. She cared for him all summer until he grew strong enough to take off on his own.
Today my grandma turns 90 years old and she’s still the same all nature & creature loving curious enthusiast!
1. My grandma letting Vorya drink water from her mouth
2. My uncle feeding Vorya
3. Feasting and bathing
4. Their dog Asta trying to stay patient with the bird
5. Tuning the radio
6. Happy birthday my beautiful babulya!
