So the devil tried it this morning and had Mum worrying about whether she’d be able to move freely today… wear and tear on the body, aches, pains and all the other little ailments trying to interrupt her day. 🤔😡 I said, “Oh hell no, not today Satan!” 😅 Put my @coachlloydedwards hat on and took Mum through some dynamic stretches and simple exercises to warm up and loosen those tight muscles and joints. 💪🏾✨ Mum, I’m so grateful for your life and for your next 365 around the sun. 🌍☀️ Keep pushing past those mental demons that try to hold us bound, Lady! 👀❤️ It’s never too late to make your dreams come true, Ma. Keep going. 🙏🏾✨ Love you lots. Happy Birthday Ma @nannypam9 🤗💝🌟🙏🏾🥂🥳

As creatives, we’re often taught to push through. To juggle. To hold everything together. Recently, I stepped into a Creative Supervision session with Nicolette Wilson Clarke, and it shifted something. Through a powerful active and visual exercise, I mapped out my world — my time, boundaries, my tendency to fix, people-pleasing, the chaos I had normalised… and the sustainability I say I want. Seeing it laid out in front of me was confronting — but clarifying. As a neurodiverse creative, I’ve often felt like my relationship with time and responsibility works a little differently. What this reflection helped me realise is that the challenge wasn’t simply about productivity — it was about where my energy was going. I realised something important: Time management isn’t my issue. Boundaries are. Identity is. Where I place my energy is. In our second session, we explored a question that has quietly lived in the background of my professional life: How do I fully embody being a vocal coach? Despite years of working with artists and vocalists, I realised I still sometimes question my legitimacy — feeling like I need more certificates or validation before confidently owning the role. Through a powerful active and visual exercise, drawing on four “wisdom voices” representing mentors and influences in my life, the message that emerged was clear: You’ve already been doing the work. You already live and breathe this craft. It’s time to step fully into it. Sometimes, growth isn’t about learning something new. Sometimes it’s about recognising what is already true. Creative Supervision with Nicolette Wilson Clarke, @creativegeniuscoach has been an incredibly grounding space for reflection and clarity. If you’re a creative — neurodiverse or neurotypical — navigating burnout, boundaries or identity in your work, I genuinely recommend exploring this kind of reflective support. Sustainable creativity is the real flex. ShezAr Duchess of Soul 🧡

In loving memory. 🤍🎶 This rehearsal holds so much meaning for me. Sharing space with Floacist for “A Night with Flo” at Hollywood Bowl, O2 — FEB 2016 — a room filled with pure musicianship, honesty, and soul. At that time, I was quietly navigating a very tough season, smiling on the outside but carrying a lot within. Big Sis Sharleen Linton saw straight through me that day and gently reminded me, “You’ve got this.” My cousin Joey Grant (Aug 2022), buzzing to be on bass, saying, “Shez, we’ve got you - lash the dance and go IN!” My brother Josh (MckNasty) holding it down on drums - rhythm section locked, family rooted. Alongside our musical family: Luke Smith, Gavin Holligan, Brownie, Emily Holligan on BGVs with Sha - a true family affair. And then Flo… who simply said, “Sis, I want you to roar. Bring out the Lioness.” The song: State Of The Mind. With everything each of us was carrying, we chose to play, sing, and lift one another in that room. That’s the power of music. That’s community. Today, on Sharleen’s birthday, I honour her spirit, Joey’s joy, and the safe space they helped create - one I’ll carry with me always. 🕊️✨ Ten years on, I’m reminded that the moments that shape us most are often the ones where music holds us together. What song, memory, or person helped carry you through a season you never speak about? 🤍

A gentle share from the studio 🤍 These are some of the releases I use regularly and with clients; to help ease tension in the neck, shoulders and breath - especially after singing or rehearsing.
