I had the most enjoyable and rewarding time delivering a talk and Q&A recently @insightdancecompany founded by @claudimar1 . The students were incredibly receptive and open. Their questions were thoughtful, considered and full of curiosity and I really valued the opportunity to support and explore those reflections together. There is something special about being in a space where learning, creativity and emotional awareness can sit side by side. Supporting creatives in understanding themselves as well as their craft is work I care deeply about and spaces like this remind me why it matters. Thank you Claudimar for the invitation and for what you’ve created. It’s a beautiful environment for growth. I’m really looking forward to working with you and the students again soon.

Not every day is for pushing. Some days are for pacing yourself. What if going gently doesn't mean you’re falling behind. What if it means you’re listening. Would that matter? #CreativeWellbeing #GoGently #TheCreativeGenius

Sometimes the mind moves faster than the truth. We jump ahead. We imagine outcomes. We catastrophise and say: “What if this ruins everything?” “What if I’ve got it wrong?” “What if this means something about me?” Brené Brown offers a simple but powerful way to come back to perspective: Will this matter in... 5 minutes? 5 hours? 5 days? 5 months? 5 years? This isn’t about dismissing your feelings. It’s about gently bringing your thinking mind back online when it’s been swept up in intensity. For creatives, whose work is often personal, visible and uncertain, it’s easy to move far from the present moment and into imagined futures. Perspective creates space. And space allows you to respond rather than react. So the next time your mind spirals, PAUSE. Move through the perspective questions and ask yourself "Will it matter ...?" ... in 5 minutes? ... in 5 hours? ... in 5 days? ... in 5 months? ... in 5 years? And notice what shifts. #CreativeWellbeing #EmotionalRegulation #Perspective #CreativeMind #TheCreativeGenius

The 3 Aims of Therapy To notice To sit with To find perspective Not to rush. Not to fix. Not to force clarity before it’s ready. Therapy gently supports you to become aware of what’s happening, to stay with it without overwhelm and, over time, to see it with more understanding and space. For creatives especially, this can shift how you relate to your thoughts, emotions and experiences. Small awareness. Steady presence. New perspective. And if this is something you’re exploring, you don’t have to do it on your own. #CreativeWellbeing #TherapySupport #SelfAwareness #EmotionalGrowth #TheCreativeGenius

Grateful to have completed another performance with @womanewer at @courtyard_arts , Hereford presenting J’ai Un Bleu (I Have a Bruise). A deeply moving piece exploring the themes of sexual assault and sexual misconduct, created by @laurakenyondance . It has been four years working alongside this dance company, supporting workshops, individual performances and touring. I continue to be struck by the energy, focus and immersiveness each artist brings from rehearsal through to performance. The care held within the work is felt. I was present as resident Psychotherapist, supporting the artists, the space and hosting the aftershow Q&A. The audience met the piece with openness and engaged so thoughtfully in the conversation that followed. Moments like this remind us why this work matters. Not only the performance itself, but the space it creates for reflection, dialogue and shared understanding. Thank you to everyone who attended and to Courtyard Arts Theatre for having us. With appreciation to all involved. #CreativeWellbeing #DanceTheatre #ArtsAndMentalHealth #WomaneweR #TheCreativeGenius

Happy Monday my dear creative! A gentle reminder for the week ahead. Sometimes the most important movement is a pause. In creative life, there can be a tendency to keep going. To push through. To stay in motion. But growth often happens in the moments we stop. Pausing allows space to reflect, to process and to notice what is really happening beneath the surface. It gives your nervous system a chance to settle and your thoughts a chance to land. And while this can be powerful on your own, it can deepen even further when shared with someone who can hold the space with you. A pause is not a delay. It's part of the process. #CreativeSupervision #PauseAndReflect #CreativeGrowth #TheCreativeGenius

A Creative’s Experience of Therapy | Part 5 When people consider therapy, one of the biggest questions is often: Will I feel safe enough to be myself? In this final part, Claudimar shares that he would recommend working together because the space felt calm, steady and safe. A place where he could express himself freely. Without pressure. Without feeling forced to find answers before he was ready. This matters. Therapy is not about being pushed. It's not about having the “right” words. And it's not about performing your experience. It's about being met where you are. At your pace. In a way that allows things to unfold naturally. For creatives especially, who are often navigating intensity, visibility and internal pressure, having a space that feels steady and non-demanding can make all the difference. If you’ve ever wondered what therapy might feel like, perhaps this offers a small insight. And if it feels important, you don’t have to explore that on your own. #CreativeWellbeing #TherapyForCreatives #SafeSpace #CreativeSupport #TheCreativeGenius

A Creative’s Experience of Therapy | Part 4 Over time, therapy can become a collection. Not of answers but of tools... practices. Ways of understanding yourself. Almost like building a collection of favourite records or books. Each one offering something slightly different, something you can return to when you need it. There are many ways to begin this process. Reading, researching, listening, learning. And these can all be supportive. But there is something distinct about working relationally with someone. Having your experiences reflected back. Being met in real time. Noticing what is happening in your body, your thoughts, your responses… as it unfolds. This is where understanding begins to deepen. Where insight becomes something you can embody, not just think about. For creatives navigating complex emotional and professional landscapes, having access to this kind of support can become a steady resource over time. Something you carry with you. Something you can return to. A way of meeting yourself with more awareness, care and clarity. #CreativeWellbeing #TherapyForCreatives #EmotionalGrowth #CreativeSupport #TheCreativeGenius
