Completed in May 1993, a few months before his death, BLUE is Jarman’s final film. For 74 minutes, an unchanging screen of celestial blue is accompanied by voices which deliver a collage of fragments from his diary, describing the gradual onset of blindness as he battles with HIV.
A cast of four artists including Russell Tovey (
@russelltovey ), writer and theatre-maker Travis Alabanza (
@travisalabanza ), artist Jay Bernard (
@cmmn_stance ), and award-winning poet Joelle Taylor (
@jtaylortrash ) will deliver Jarman’s powerful words. With a new live score by the film’s original composer, Simon Fisher Turner (
@simonfisherturner ). Produced in association with Fuel (
