Shirley and Mike Joseph were only two years into their relationship when Shirley was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer at 33-years-old. Worried that this might be too much for Mike, she offered him an out, but instead of accepting it, Mike asked for her hand in marriage.
They faced Shirley’s cancer together with our care team and are thriving today. But it wasn’t always easy. The experience has given them a valuable perspective that is relatable to many couples in a similar situation.

Part two 🥹✨
What started as a change of plans honestly turned into one of my favorite moments of the trip.
We ended up at Lele, a luxury Afro Caribbean fine dining restaurant in New York, @lelenyc and the whole experience was beautiful. The atmosphere, the music, the presentation, the FOOD 😭 everything was so good and full of flavor. The portions were huge too… yes, I definitely brought leftovers back for Mike lol.
I treated the girls to drinks and we just had one of those real conversations. Talking about life, our past, our goals, our future, what we’re building, and even taking a moment to pray over one another 🤎
It reminded me that rushing isn’t always the best thing. Sometimes slowing down creates the moments you actually remember.
This whole weekend was deeper than just going to an event. It was connection, sisterhood, growth, and alignment.
And just like that… it was time for day one of HEBS 👀 Sunday recap coming next.

I told Mike I wanted us pulling up to HEBS as a team, in a Cybertruck, with our logo on it… and somehow it went from an idea to real life.
Road to HEBS (Hair Education Beauty Summit in Secaucus, New Jersey) with Marg & Bizzy, riding all weekend in a Cybertruck‼️This wasn’t just a trip. This was growth, alignment, and seeing what happens when you actually believe in what you’re building.
