Congratulations to our six #ForsythSchool Grade 3 students whose Science of Learning Instrument Design (SOLID) projects were featured in the annual #STEAM Showcase at The Sheldon Concert Hall & Art Galleries last Wednesday, May 6.
SOLID (Science of Learning Instrument Design) is a free educational program that challenges students to design and create a unique musical instrument from recycled materials. The program includes live demonstrations from the @stlsciencecenter on the "science of sound" and @sheldonstl on instrument design, world music, and the engineering cycle. Grade 3 students further explored different components of the project in specialist classes with Mrs. Sharon Anibal (Science), Ms. Rose Fischer (Music), Ms. Melissa Leuthardt (Innovation & Design), and Ms. Saaba Lutzeler (Art).
🎼The Composers Cooperative spotlights two St. Louis composers of modern chamber music, internationally acclaimed musician Dr. Michael F. Hunt and Stephen Jones.
