Building emotional awareness has always been part of our everyday conversations at home.
As Layla and Skyla grow, so do the conversations. We talk about gratitude, current affairs, friendships. Deon and I have also started sharing more of our own emotions and experiences too. It's become less about teaching and more about exploring together.
A lot of what we come back to is 'perspective'.
That while their feelings are completely valid and belong to them, the world also holds other people's feelings and experiences. And most of the time, it's not about who's right, it's about learning to hold both.
This is something I think about deeply as a parent, especially with the social challenges children face today. Helping them build empathy and healthy boundaries feels like one of the most important things we can do.
Grateful to share more of this with you, and to be part of conversations that matter.

A lot of parents ask, if the girls are okay with solo trips without the other?
Honestly, a little not okay. But they've grown up knowing each one gets their turn, and we've been building that foundation since they were little. Some weekends we even split up just to have dedicated one-on-one time with each girl.
This time was extra significant, it was Skyla's first! Which meant it was also the first time Layla was ever the one left behind. So the FOMO was real.
But she came through with the most generous thing: "I'll miss Meimei, but it's good she gets to experience it so she can come back and share it with me." (Aww🥹)
When they were apart, they kept thinking about each other. Skyla mentioned umpteen times she wants to bring Jiejie next time because it's so fun.
A gigantic, tight reunion hug said everything.
My goal as their mama is simple - for them to grow up with confidence, self-worth, and a love for each other that goes the distance. Every intentional moment, every solo trip, every intentional conversation since they were tiny,
it's all pointing there. ❤️

They say it takes a village to raise a child. But nobody tells you that somewhere in that village, you'll find people who become the reason you survive it.
For me, one of those people is Nora.
She has been there since the very beginning of my motherhood. Not from the first birthday, not from the first steps, but from the moment I found out I was going to become a mother. She has held space for me through every version of overwhelm I didn't have words for, through the nights I questioned whether I was doing enough. The moments I needed someone to just sit with me, for the drinks and the tears and the laughs that somehow always managed to come in the same conversation.
Friendship like this doesn't announce itself. It just shows up. Again and again and again.
So when Clé de Peau surprised me with this, something cracked open in the best way. To hear how she sees me, to remember how deeply I value her as a human being I am so lucky to know.
Thank you, Clé de Peau, for this gift. For understanding that motherhood is not just about the child you're raising, it's about who is standing next to you while you do.
And thank you, Nora. My forever friend. Godma to my children.
This one counts.

Spent Labour Day exactly where I needed to be - celebrating Selenight's 5th anniversary!
@norashereen and @juitwen have always known how to make you FEEL the brand. The moment you walk in, you drop your 'week' at the door. Very much like meditation - you arrive at the present, and you stay there.
#ComeHomeToTheWeekend isn't just a hashtag. It's genuinely what they've built.
There was @morocafe.sg 's Matcha; aesthetically gorgeous, and made only with pure strawberries. No jam, no shortcuts. It tasted exactly like that: clean, honest, just sweet enough.
And then @naomiyhs 's al fresco sound bath. I honestly can't decide if it was the singing bowls or her voice that was more hypnotic. All I know is I woke from a short nap completely disoriented! Haha! I had genuinely forgotten I was in the middle of an event. 😅
For their 5th, @selenightco launched the Offline Long Set, Signature Nightshirt, Weekend Boxer Shorts, and Reversible Tank. The boxer shorts and tank have my whole heart. Launched tonight at 8pm. 💘 You're going to love it, trust me.

Happy birthday to the Godma of my children, my best friend!
I am inspired by your kindness, your values, your grace. You carry so much knowledge, yet hold your mind open to learning more. You so often put others before yourself, and when you do, you do it with a listening heart, full of love and tenderness.
I've always prided myself on being a fiercely protective friend. But when I look at you... i think you're a little crazy, because somehow you're even more protective than I am! 🤣
You always insist you're not biased towards me and the kids. So how is it that we are always, in every single way, the best in your eyes?
🥰
Thank you, @norashereen . I cherish this friendship deeply, and I am so grateful you are in my life. You are someone I respect and treasure, truly.

Little games like these let kids practise autonomy. In Positive Psychology, autonomy is one of the core pillars of intrinsic motivation. When children feel in control of their choices, it builds confidence, independence, and self-esteem organically.
It also breaks the usual one-way dynamic. This isn't just about them following my lead; the "game" gives them the chance to direct me too. That role-reversal activates their sense of competence, which research links directly to wellbeing.
They did amazing, honestly! Though Layla did try to get me to wear her fancy flower hairband... which I had to kindly decline. 😄
Do you build moments like this into your day with your kids?

Gabrielle started with a needle and nothing else.
But even she knew, no empire is sewn by one pair of hands.
There is a beauty that looks effortless
because so many people worked hard to make it so. That is devotion.
No one ever walks alone.
Some are just lucky to get to walk in front.
I'm so blessed.

Behind the glamour is a group of people who pour their hearts into making me shine.
Year after year, my stylist, makeup artist, and hair stylist work tirelessly under pressure, against tight timelines, planning months ahead, all to make sure I walk in looking and feeling my best, regardless of nominations or not.
They don't just do a job. They show up for me, every single time. And for that, I am endlessly grateful. My friends. My people. My support squad.
This year, everything came together beautifully. Comets, stars, and blooms; a little magic from @ChanelOfficial , and a whole lot of love from the ones who never let me walk alone. ❤️

The moment I heard it, I knew this was the one for Star Awards 2026. Completely mesmerised by this story.
"One day, Gabrielle Chanel complained that Boy Capel never gave her flowers. For the next two days, he sent her a bouquet every half hour to Rue Cambon, until she asked him to stop."
The way Matthieu Blazy translated this into a dress is nothing short of magical. With every step, it moved like a bouquet in full bloom.
Paired with Chanel Comètes.
The comet, a timeless symbol of chance, destiny, and lucky stars 🌟
