افرغ ما في جعبتك This space is for emptying what’s in your chest—I’ll go first. We carry things in containers: precious, harmful, sentimental, disposable. We empty them, reuse them, or toss them without thinking—but containers are changed by what they hold. They crease, absorb, shift temperature. In Arabic, جعبتي (jueabati) symbolizes the chest or mind as a bag of what we carry. I’ve always been drawn to this image: we begin life encased, some placentas are kept, others discarded, and we return to encasement when we’re buried. so I drew and wrote this: لا بجعبتي شيئاً غير حكياتي التي جعدت جدرانى، ضاعفت طياتي.. الهواء يتسلسل من عبر زوايا أسس شبكاتى .. مما يؤدى إلى التوقد الذى امتصصتُه.. ما كان بجعبتي لم يكن ملكى وحدى، بل أيضاً ما استقبلته ورسمته لا صممته.. ما أخذتُ، وما أخذنى، واحتفظتُه.. اختلطت البصمات، جميعنا جانٍ فان. لكن طبيعتي قابلة للاشتعال.. أوان. من حسن حظى أنى أملك زماماً واحداً أو اثنان.. واني ولدت بمذهب يمارس العزاء ويحرض على البكاء.. رطبت مسامى، بلغت الإطفاء… أشكر تلك الزوايا، ظننتها داء، لكن كانت دواء.. جف الماء… الآن أستطيع إصلاح قوامى، لعلى أُصبح عولاً… ما العائد من استثماراتى؟ من اختزاناتٍ مؤقتة غفت عن من ناورها واناراها. بدد… مدد… أخذنى الهواء، آمنت لوهلة بالمعاجز.. فحلقت حتى أوقظتنى الحواجز… وكأنها فخ… ..تأول.. بالصدفة، لا بالعنيه .. نقطة تحول… فالحقائب الورقية، خصوصاً إذا كانت من غير علامة تجارية، غير مرحب فيها على الرفوف العالمية… مخصصة للطعام، للنفايات، للملبس، وربما للدواء… غالباً، تحتوي على ما لا يعادلها بالأثمان.. هراء… لكن موخراً اصتدمت بكيس ورقي محنط من احد الفنانون العظماء.. من عام 1968، بحجم خمسة أقدام… فتذكرت تلك الرسمة التى رسمتها منذ سنة، أو من ذلك الحين، من أعوام… لعل قصصي تسقط مرتبة، على أوراق تولد فى حلقات… لعل جلدي يحتضنها، وتتكون منها كتب بعد كل تلك المشقات… لعلنى قابلة للتدوير، لا لتزوير الأقلام.. لعل لى مكان في معرض ما مكان او الوق بالأفلام.. لم أغلق السقف، أردت إتاحة المجال، إيماناً، للاحتمالات، للأوكسجين، للأضواء… لكنها كانت مخرجاً، لنهاية… ما ولما، ولمن، وإلى متى، الوفاء؟ كم من حمولة، وكم من ثقل، يمكننى تحمله؟ ما هو حد الاستخدام؟ رجاء.
