This is 50! It’s NOT my Birthday, I’m actually closer to 51, I just needed a caption to post this great pic from a recent
@theyogasocietypb photo shoot 😂
I’m officially at the “damn kids, get off my lawn” age, or it’s unreasonably upsetting when a store changes their floor plan, but weekend naps after a workout are a bigger “life reward” than you ever imagined, and it actually is nice knowing you’re not the main character to everyday life.
Some parting words of wisdom for all my friends in their mid 30’s…
- Movement is life - Comfort will kill you, keep showing up and doing the hard things
- Motivation will fail you -
If I relied on my emotions to get anything done, nothing would ever get accomplished. Discipline is the only thing that will keep you consistent (your mind lies to you all the time)
- Don’t be afraid to suck at new things -
I started yoga at 41, CrossFit at 45, and
@thepatriot_games at 49, don’t stop learning how to learn
- Everything hurts -
The biggest misconception is that I must feel great because of yoga and CrossFit… Wrong! I feel strong, I feel fit, but something is usually hurt or sore, it’s the price you pay for staying active
- And finally, have passions that keep you going -
If you don’t have a passion yet, find it and cultivate it. I like yoga, crossfit, and shooting, but I love surfing. It’s a serotonin, dopamine, and endorphin producing factory, you’ll need those chemicals so that you’re not the stereotypical “old and crabby” 50 year old 😂
Good talk everybody, mazel tov!
