THE DARKEST DAYS OF THE BRIGHTEST HOURS
Finalist at the Fashion Film Festival @lodzyoungfashion
The film was created as part of a creative collaboration between Polish-born Rome International Film School alumni Pola Król and the Polish/Slovenian creative duo Zofia Lipińska and Dedee Koželj, who continue their fashion design studies in Paris.
„The Darkest Days of the Brightest Hours” tells a story of two planets that desperately want to meet, but despite being on fixed orbits, neither can anticipate when said meeting will happen. What they also don’t know is that they are being observed by a scientist whose life mission is to discover the pattern of their dance. Woman becomes emotionally engaged in the spheres’ journey, appreciating the intimacy of witnessing it from such a vast distance. Accompanied by a personal poem and narrative of Pola Król we are following the quiet unfold of the universe.
The featured collection, designed and made by Zofia Lipińska & Dedee Koželj revives the charged spirit that marked the dawn of the 20th century and its muse, Luisa Casati: the woman who walked panthers through palazzos and turned life into art. Glamour had grown stranger, sharper; opulence met upheaval—an age where duchesses dined with anarchists and beauty lived beside ruin. Silhouettes swell to surreal extremes; fabrics twist and fold into illusion, creating depth - a tension between fragility and form. Sheer organza meets black taffeta, silk pleats clash against raw edges- each layer revealing and concealing. Between delicacy and dominance, we find our language: a resurrection of eccentric, haunting couture.
3RD YEAR BA // MATERIAL CREATION & RESEARCH//
Shoe prototype, created as a part of the 'Final Collection' creative process. Firm double satin base is serving as canvas for the embroidery made out of organza feathers & round black pearls , topped with small green crystal beads. ( Inspired by "The Lovers Knot" herb; slide2)

Bodice, made from black satin fabric is lined with digital printed light satin, which showcases the motif of a lady making our traditional Idrian lace. Voluminous sleeves are made from 4 meters of silk organza, with application of hand cut and sewn taffeta stripes, creating an illusion of a movement.

Voluminous sleeves are made from 4 meters of silk organza, with application of hand cut and sewn taffeta stripes, creating an illusion of a movement.
