We’re thrilled to announce we have a limited release ready we think you’ll love.! I
FIRST CRUSH — Cranberry Lime Sour Ale (6.5% ABV)
First Crush is bright, tart cranberry with a fresh squeeze of lime and just enough sweetness to keep it smooth. Light, refreshing, and easy to drink — but with a little kick at 6.5% ABV.
This brew is crushable and unforgettable. We think you’re going to fall in love. Can’t wait for you to try it.
Nothing says Utah flavor quite like this pairing: Dixie BBQ’s smoked turkey and Shades Brewing’s RazStachio Sour, brewed right here in the Beehive State.
That raspberry-pistachio tang cuts through the smoke with a bright, nutty, and a little unexpected finish.
We can add in another local favorite, since we are right next door to the new Southern Spirits & Wine! Come taste what happens when local beer meets local smoke.
*We are 📍inside Digby’s
That new Raspberry Pistachio Sour… chilled and straight from the tank? Unforgettable! We’re so grateful for those moments that feel like a celebration and we can’t wait to share them with you.
The beer has now been delivered to the distributor and it’s on its way into your hands. pretty soon you’ll be able to share that WOW moment with us and celebrate the victory.
Huge thanks to Sarah (in the picture) and her husband Robert, friends who gave us their vacation and volunteered to work tirelessly at our side the whole week. Your generosity and love is beyond words. Love you.
You’ve been asking us what’s happening. Stories have been written: Thank you for caring.
Based on some of what we’ve read, It’s clear there is some confusion. In an effort to dispel some of the misconceptions, let us just say that all of the following is “to the best of our understanding”.
The HVAC system is safe and fully functional, passing all city inspections. The issue is a disagreement over round ducts vs oval ducts.
The complaint about the beer bar? It’s not about weather it’s complete, up to code or passed inspections. It’s about 3 inches; 24 vs 21 inches and the use of copper vs wood.
However, the real story isn’t in legal papers, but in the people affected.
Our hardworking team members, who poured their hearts into every pint, are laid off.
Our community lost a gathering place, a beautiful space where you could meet friends, celebrate, and unwind.
Our newest creation, the Pistachio Sour, can’t be enjoyed at our pub and you can’t come get it directly from the hands that made it.
This isn’t just a story about a business dispute; it’s a story about how technicalities can dismantle something built with heart. To stay open, we were asked to pay a possession bond of $500,000—a sum, too large for us to come up with. So, we wait.
Since it’s clear the legal papers are difficult to decipher without our ability to comment, we believe the best way to get the information is to attend the court hearing on October 21st.
We are fighting for our team, our dream, and our place in this community. And we’re humbled and grateful for every single one of you who have shown your support.
- The Shades Team
The things we’ve had to go through….. unimaginable! Thank you Shades family for standing with us through really hard times. You have made it all worth it.
We just found this coin. It was awarded to Trent by the Police for an incident at the brewery. I was so proud of him and was sad it had been misplaced.
There was a break in at the brewery. A guy running from the police jumped the fence, then ran through the taproom and into the service areas. Well, he ran into the wrong guy back there. Trent took wrestling in school and just had it with the crime. There was some wrestling, some running, a take down, an escape, more chasing, some flying through the air…. And when the police got here….. Trent had him on the floor face down with his arm behind his back ready for the police to come take him away.
And you…. Our extended family have been there right along side us on this crazy journey. Thank you! your love and support means the world to us.
For those of you who have been inquiring, we still have some free picnic tables available. They do need some TLC.
22 bar stools -$20 each
If you know anyone just starting a beverage company that could use a way to package, we have 2 bottling lines.
And bottling line
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the temporary closure of the new Shades Brewery & Pub on 3rd West. We hope to reopen by the end of October.
This closure is the result of a dispute with our landlord over alleged defaults and deadlines tied to construction issues. To be clear, we dispute that we have defaulted under our lease.
We have received some requests from the press for comment. We are unable to comment due to liability.
We know this is frustrating news for our loyal community and our team of dedicated employees. It is deeply painful for us to have our doors closed under these circumstances. Thank you for standing with us — your support means everything.
— The Shades Brewing Team
We have now started to move out of the brewery location. The picnic tables in the patio need a bit of love and some need replacement planks, but if any of you would like them, they are available and free. Please send a message before stopping by, we’re in and out.
We also won’t be taking our 2 bottling lines with us. If anyone wants a screaming deal, reach out.
