Looking at this picture, I canāt help but reflect on the goodness of God. As I walked up these steps toward Bauer Mercer Hall, carrying my pastries and rushing to present my pitch, the Holy Spirit reminded me of my journey. I had to pause, reflect, and capture this moment.
About ten years ago, I stood in this very building, filled with gratitude as I graduated with an accounting degree. Fast forward a decade, and here I am againānot as a student but as a creator, pitching a product and service I not only built but am deeply passionate about. My heart overflows with joy as verses about waiting on the Lord, having your strength renewed, walking through valleys, and experiencing His blessings finally resonate in a deeply personal way.
Donāt get me wrong, the journey hasnāt been easy. Iāve doubted, cried, been heartbroken, and questioned my decisionsāespecially why I left my 9-to-5. Iāve wrestled with thoughts of inadequacy, even walking through these halls in the past, wondering if getting another degree would make me feel accomplished.
But this time was different. Walking into Bauer with my savory, authentic meat pies in hand, presenting them to strangers, and passionately explaining my mission to bring authentic small bites and meaningful experiences to Africans in the diasporaāwhile preserving bold flavors and cultural authenticityāwas transformative. To top it off, being recognized as one of the best pitches of the night made everything come full circle.
After receiving such amazing news on Monday, I didnāt take the time to savor the moment. I had to rush back and prepare for the Thanksgiving small chops platter sale. But now, Iām intentionally taking a moment to reflect and be proud of how far Iāve come and everything Iāve accomplished.
I am so grateful to God for the opportunity to serve with my hands and fulfill my purpose with just these two hands. I donāt know whatās next, where this journey will lead, or how it will all unfold, but I trust the Holy Spirit to guide me.
I share this to encourage you: just keep going. Do it confused. Do it scared. Do it happy. Do it broke. Do it, especially when it makes you uncomfortable. Just do it.
#grateful
Happy Monday! An amazing Adam & a kind Gabriel & a couple of beloved family & friends told me to post more of my face and my story, so here it is. Enjoy š
