ARTS & PERFORMANCE X Repeat the Action show. CREATIVE DIRECTION 3 of 3 Being half Portuguese, it felt important for me to root the project in the local context, bringing together Portuguese artists as a way to engage with the place hosting the show. The show begins with @jose_marrucho , who composed and performed the live sound using drums and percussion. My intention was to create a repetitive sound layer that could accompany the first part of the show without ever reaching a climax, reinforcing the idea of repetition through sound and movement. After the second and final appearance of the models, @nidiasukulbembe , DJ and producer from @principediscos_verdadeiro , introduces a transition that shifts the atmosphere and opens the final phase of the show. I’ve followed Nidia’s work for over a decade, and collaborating together became an opportunity to bring her practice into a context beyond the traditional club environment. As the sound changes, the movement transforms. The models begin to converge toward the center, forming two opposite circles around the totem. This moment reflects my intention to emphasize collectivity, a group coming together, merging into a shared presence.Gradually, all 19 models occupy the structure, forming a single collective image. While researching choreographers, I came across @marco_da_silva_ferreira ‘s work and immediately felt he was the figure who could most naturally fuse with all the other artistic elements of the project. The dancers, previously seated among the audience, rise and enter the space, reinforcing the sense of tribe and belonging that became a fundamental part of the project. What began as individual movement becomes a collective ritual. Obrigado. STRUCTURE X Repeat the Action show. CREATIVE DIRECTION 2 of 3 The show was conceived as a performative structure. Movement became the organizing principle. Each model followed a defined path, tracing a trajectory through the space. These paths repeat, reflecting the individual journey of each student — each movement unfolding independently, one after the other. Over time, they begin to intersect and shift. At the center, the totem becomes the focal point — a fixed element that anchors the space. The trajectories build tension and direction, gradually redefining how the space is perceived. The show shifts from runway into performance. VISION X Repeat the Action show. CREATIVE DIRECTION 1 of 3. This past September, I was invited to work on the creative direction of the fashion show during ModaLisboa, featuring graduate students from IED Italy and Spain, hosted at the Italian Embassy in Lisbon. The starting point was the structure of the show itself. Each student developed their own collection, with only one or two looks selected and presented in the show. There was no single unified narrative or overarching theme. This condition became the foundation of the entire project. Rather than forcing uniformity, the direction embraced this multiplicity. The concept of Repeat the Action emerged from this idea — repetition as a system capable of holding together different individual paths. A spatial logic begins to take shape: trajectories, recurring movements, and a series of points that organize the space. At the center, a vertical structure, the totem, defines the core of the show A gesture that, when reiterated, shifts from function to transformation. Repeat the action to move forward, to evolve. A selection of early sketches and visual references that shaped the vision of the show.
