Here it is - the first film from SH*T MOTH. Created for @_youmakeit as part of Media Trust’s Charity Film programme, and premiered at @britishfilminstitute . The film is about mentorship - so we built it that way. Emerging talent joined the crew, learning on set, stepping up, and becoming part of the making. Over 70% of the cast and crew were women - not by accident, but by intention - in collaboration with a charity that exists to support young women across London. What began as a short film became a full 360 campaign - billboards across the city and a suite of micro films for social - built by an extraordinary collective who showed up with care, craft and belief. As a directing and producing partnership, this project marks the beginning of SH*T MOTH not just as an idea, but as a working creative collective. Every person listed below shaped this film. Our first project as @sh_tmoth and we couldn't be more delighted: film, social and poster campaign for the award winning charity @_youmakeit . You Make It empowers young women from diverse, disadvantaged, and underrepresented backgrounds through mentorship, employability training, creative workshops, and personal development programmes. The film was commissioned through the Media Trust & @citybridgefoundation partnership, which connects London charities with pro-bono film talent to create award-winning shorts that raise awareness, support fundraising, and share powerful stories. These posters formed a wider campaign. Thanks to the ever brilliant @planningunit for graphics and poster design. Thanks @jonhphoto for astonishing portraits. And thanks @tolustedford for bringing @michelle_bonnard on board to direct.
