You Make It with IYA 💫
It's wonderful to witness people in their early road to excellence.
It was an incredible honor to facilitate an observational portrait painting workshop for @_youmakeit within the heritage-rich walls of the @whitechapelgallery@iyaarts_ created a space for these women to see each other and be seen in the power of their identity, through art.
This workshop was for the current cohort of women on the distinguished 16-week programmme at You Make It.
The holistic empowerment programme focuses on preparing Black and Brown women from working class backgrounds to excel into employment.
It was great to lead the art workshop and also listen to the aspirations of these women and share routes into accessing visual arts through education and business.
Best of luck to these women as they complete the programme! You all have abundant potential and will go so so far💫
