Enjoyed a guided walking tour through Samarkand.
From the turquoise domes of Gur-e-Amir to the massive scale of Registan, every stop carried layers of history tied to the Timurid Empire.
We wandered through Bibi-Khanym Mosque, explored the energy of Siyob Bazaar, and finished at the extraordinary Shah-i-Zinda, one of the most beautiful places we have seen in Central Asia.
Loved this tour, loved Samarkand, and loved meeting so many nice people today! #walkingtour #samarqand🇺🇿 #uzbekistan #silkroad #travellife
Final memories of Bukhara — a city of desert light, hidden courtyards, ancient craftsmanship, and Silk Road history. Fun fact: for centuries, Bukhara’s traders were so influential across Asia that Jewish merchants from the city developed their own unique language, Bukhori, blending Persian, Hebrew, and Central Asian influences. #bukhara #uzbekistan #judaism #silkroad #travellife
At Ark of Bukhara, centuries of Silk Road history rise above the old city. Once home to the Emirs of Bukhara, the massive fortress overlooks ancient streets, domes, minarets, and nearby archaeological layers that reveal just how old and continuously inhabited this city truly is. The views across Bukhara are unforgettable. #bukhara #uzbekistan #fortress #views #travellife
At Sitorai Mokhi-Khosa Palace, the Summer Palace of the Emir of Bukhara, Silk Road craftsmanship meets Russian and European elegance. Built in the final years of the Emirate, the palace is filled with intricate wood carving, painted ceilings, carved plasterwork, and royal history. A completely different side of Bukhara beyond the ancient mosques and madrasas. #bukhara #uzbekistan #palace #history #travellife
Spent the morning with a private guide, @shakhnoza_af in Bukhara, 🇺🇿 and learned a lot about the history, culture, and people who call the historic city their home. One of the best tours ever. During the tour, we met many master artisans who are recognized by @unesco for using their talent and keeping their traditions alive. In the last photo, you will see a handmade embroidered textile from @suzani_workshop that took roughly two months to complete with five hours of work per day. The design draws from the long artistic traditions of Central Asia, blending pomegranate motifs, floral forms, and Persian influenced patterns that have traveled across the Silk Road for centuries. Every section is densely completed by hand, creating a balance of symmetry, movement, and color that reflects the textile traditions for which Bukhara is famous. And yes, this piece is coming home with me. #bukhara #walkingtour #uzbekistan🇺🇿 #travellife #artsandcrafts
Final photos from Khiva and all of my food photos. Dumplings and green noodles are a speciality of Khiva. #foodporn #khiva #history #uzbekistan #silkroad
Spent the morning wandering through Itchan Kala, the ancient walled city of Khiva and one of the best preserved Silk Road cities in Central Asia with Fazilat from @tourmania_uz From the towering Islam Khoja Minaret to the sacred Pahlavan Mahmud Mausoleum, the carved wooden columns of Juma Mosque, bustling caravanserais, bazaars, and the courtyards of Tash-Hauli Palace, every corner was brought to life with centuries of trade, scholarship, and desert history. #guidedtour #khiva #uzbekistan #travellife #history
Inside Nurullaboy Saroyi, Khiva’s Silk Road history meets the Russian Imperial world. European-style salons with vibrant ceilings and walls, crystal chandeliers, and intricate Uzbek craftsmanship are layered together inside one remarkable palace. #khiva #uzbekistan #palace #imperialrussia #travellife
Unstructured walk through Itchan Kala in Khiva. Minarets beautiful carvings, quiet alleyways, and markets surrounded by ancient walls in the middle of the desert. #khiva #uzbekistan #walk #travellife #silkroad
Sunset over Itchan Kala, the ancient walled old town of Khiva, Uzbekistan. As the light faded across the mud brick walls, turquoise domes, and city streets, it felt like stepping into another century. #silkroad #asia #khiva #uzbekistan #travellife
