A historic day for SFA. 🪓💜
The @ut_system Board of Regents officially approved our new strategic plan, campus master plan and a 336-bed residence hall project.
So what does this mean for you?
🏠 Four new residence halls, including Lumberjack Crossing
🅿️ Three new parking garages to improve access and reduce congestion
🎨 A new art building and expanded music facilities
✈️ New academic spaces for programs like aviation, construction management and interior design
🏥 A new home for nursing and the College of Health Professions
🏛️ A new welcome center and auditorium
🌳 Expanded gardens, enhanced green space and more connected pedestrian pathways
🚶♀️ A more walkable campus with shaded malls and improved gathering spaces
At the heart of this plan is something simple: a more connected, beautiful SFA — where academics, student life and outdoor spaces flow together.
Over the next ten years, these projects are supported through UT System funding, state appropriations and private donations, not tuition increases.

From residence halls to homes across Nacogdoches, Lumberjacks helped make a difference during move-out week. 💜🪓
In partnership with @keepnacbeautiful and @opendoor_nac , SFA students donated usable items instead of sending them to the landfill and filled trailers with supplies that will now support neighbors in need throughout our community.

The Sylvans did it again! 🪓🌲💜
SFA’s Sylvans Forestry Club made history at the Louisiana Forest Festival, sweeping all nine collegiate events — something no team had ever done before — and capturing the overall championship against top regional competitors for the seventh straight year.
From record-setting chopping and crosscut times to standout performances against professional timbersports athletes, our Lumberjacks continue to prove they are among the best in the nation. The team has now earned historic wins in every competition they competed in this season.

From 19 to 80 years old, 1,312 graduates officially became the newest SFA Alumni this spring. 💜🎓
Their journeys may have looked different, but each one reflects dedication, resilience and the determination to finish strong. Among them were 314 first-generation college graduates, proving the impact of higher education for generations to come.
Congratulations, Lumberjacks! Now go show the world what Lumberjacks can do. 🪓✨

A meaningful gift supporting a mission that matters. 💜🪓
Members of Delta Sigma Phi recently presented a donation to Driving Jacks, helping continue the organization’s work to promote safe and sober driving across campus and our community.
The donation carries special meaning for alumnus Jimmy Shields and his wife, Mary, whose daughter, Amy Shields, inspired the creation of Driving Jacks after she was tragically killed by a drunk driver in 2004. Through education, awareness and advocacy, Driving Jacks continues to honor Amy’s memory while encouraging students to make safe choices behind the wheel.
