Sometimes a sewing project turns out even better than you imagined, and these pants are definitely one of those makes.
I used the Icaria Pants pattern by @itchtostitch with the stunning @minervadotcom Exclusive Coiled Kingdom Silk Double Crepe POD fabric, and I am obsessed with them. The snake print is bold without being overwhelming, and the silk feels unbelievably luxurious.
These wide leg pants are lightweight, flowy, ridiculously comfortable, and secretly feel like fancy pajamas. The elastic waist and pockets make them even better.
This was my first time sewing with silk double crepe, and now I completely understand the hype. The drape and movement are gorgeous. I already know these are going to be on constant rotation in my wardrobe.
I’ll be creating a block to show off my @freespiritfabrics and hope you will too! Are you in? The party just got started!

The brushed flannel from @minervadotcom feels amazing. I picked the "Soothing Shallows" design from their print-on-demand library. The Asian-influenced design was perfect for the decor in my guest room. I work from home, using a desk in the guest room, and have been wanting to make a set of reusable handkerchiefs to keep there. I cut the fabric into 8.5" squares and serged the edges to finish them. I then put them in an empty tissue box that I decoupaged with origami paper.
It's my birthday! I bought myself some @quiltersselect_ rulers from @lindaselectricquilters for my birthday. I've used this brand at classes and retreats and loved them. Some of my rulers were over 20 years old and starting to show signs of wear. I'm so excited to use my new rulers.
I had a birthday party last night to celebrate my upcoming 50th birthday. I took all my non-personal use quilts to the party and decorated with them. I then gave 5 away. The remaining quilts went back into the cabinet this morning and you can't tell any are missing.
I'm excited to finally reveal my @freespiritfabrics Circle of Makers project. I received the Into Focus Collection by @artxtiles Sarah Sczepanski. It came with coordinating thread from @aurifilthread I wanted to show off all the fun prints in this collection - so I kept things simple and made a Chandelier Quilt. To make the fabrics pop, I used the Aubergine Melange from @blankquiltingcorp as the background. I used the Purple Dot-to-Dot wideback from @studio_e_fabrics for a bright and fun backside.
This collection ships to stores in September

Finishing a quilt today. It's a pattern I'm testing for @third_story_threads
I'm making this for a friend who said they wanted bright colors and flowers.
I finally got around to getting photos of my scrappy Norwegian Chain quilt- pattern by @scandiquilts
The bigger blocks are all wideback scraps of @annamariahorner of the Passport wideback in cream from the Fluent collection. I mixed in scraps of blue, pink, turquoise, and yellow. I love how bright and cheerful this quilt is.
Here's a look at my Cabin Beneath the Stars blocks. This is a new pattern by @stitchedbystarlight
I made my blocks scrappy and while the pattern can be a little intimidating, the end result is gratifying.
