seward cafe is the oldest worker owned and operated restaurant in the so called usa. that’s right, we haven’t had bosses since 1974.
since restarting in 2020, we have attempted to serve our community in ways that frequently conflicts with “best business practices.”
To help us expand summer hours (get ready for 6 days a week!) and to pay property taxes without obliterating all of our savings, WE’RE LOOKING TO RAISE $5K BY MAY 15.

Our neighbors still need us! Here are some specific requests we’ve had from folks. We’re accepting and distroing items out of our free store whenever we’re open!

We’re also accepting donations to support cafe operations and to support our workers! We’ve been worker owned since 1974 and don’t plan on going anywhere.
