Last year I had the absolute pleasure of working together with @manfrottoimaginemore. And I’m so proud and excited to finally share what I’ve been up to It basically went like this: Hey we love what you do, want to create something like that for us? Total carte blanche! Just pick out some equipment you’d like to use and document your process. Have fun! And that’s exactly what I did! I filmed everything myself in my little studio. The scariest part was talking in front of the camera, but it felt nice to finally talk about what I love doing most :) After hiding behind a camera for almost 14 years I hope you enjoy the stop-motion and the process! For the past 3 months we (@studiomals x @setresetfilms ) have been shooting, editing, animating and finishing our first short film. As part of this years line-up on OFFF Barcelona @offfest.Never before have I worked so long and so passionate on one project, with such an awesome team!To see it on the big screens, one hour after finally rendering the film, was so surreal. Doing a talk on main-stage, without time to prepare and two nights without any sleep, was an absolute trip Thank you for coming to the premiere of the @offfest Opening Film last thursday. Seeing all of you in the audience, meeting crazy talented artists, talking on stage in front of 2000+ people is a definitive highlight of my life.10/10 would do it again! Love, Koen

Post Production; Clearing the room⁠⁠The set was pretty tight, so we couldn’t have too many people inside while filming. That’s why we decided @silasnout would control all the puppets one by one and scene by scene, and we’d edit them together later.⁠⁠Sounds fun, but it also meant we had to remove Silas from every shot. Loads of work, but with a bit of movie magic, you’d never know he was there. ⁠⁠- - ⁠Group Session is a short film by @studiomals and @setresetfilms⁠. ⁠#filmproduction #filmlife #adobe #aftereffects #videoproduction #editing #postproduction

Post-production; Eye tracking and Animation ⁠⁠If you're following our feed and posts, you may have noticed that the puppets didn’t have pupils during filming. They look kinda scary and dead, no?⁠⁠At first, it felt a bit strange, but we got used to it pretty quickly. Still, to truly bring them to life, they obviously needed pupils. In Adobe After Effects, @setresetfilms built a rig using Joysticks 'n Sliders, allowing full control over eye movement.⁠⁠Once that was in place, we added the pupils on top, making them fully animatable! Looking good! ️⁠⁠--⁠Group Session is a short film by @studiomals and @setresetfilms⁠. #animation #animator #eye-tracking #joysticksnsliders #puppets⁠
