With a nor’easter fast approaching and almost 100% certainty that it would absolutely wreck my travel plans for the tattoo film, so I’m getting out of Maine a few days ahead of schedule. Thi morning I noticed the temp had hit a perfect level where the snow begins to fall off the trees in little magical clumps here and there. Pausing my frantic packing I took out the camera and ran into the woods to shoot for an hour. This is Maine winter at its best and it feels so good to be shooting again.

🤔Explaining how I feel about this project is tricky.
You know when you meet someone who seems to bring out the best in you? Suddenly you feel more curious, more joyful, more open and aware of the immediate world around you…
That is how it felt hanging and filming with @sweettreearts this spring. It’s also the feeling you get when you see their teaching style in action. It is hard to put into words.
🎬 So the goal was to help them translate that liminal and evocative feeling. To make something that conveyed the school’s vibe and teaching methodology in an emotive way.
To help achieve this we decided on a small packet of documentary style short’s that focused on the children’s perspective, as well as parent’s experiences on having their children attend the school.
The primary video is being released soon, but since my last post was a while ago, I got all excited and made this little teaser vid.
It’s a privilege to get to tell the stories of organizations doing amazing work for our communities. Even cooler this one is in my hometown area of Midcoast Maine.
As the first hints of fall roll in, we’re already feeling the anticipation of winter—and with it, the excitement around our snowboarding documentary ‘Catching Light’ We’ve been pouring our hearts into bringing this story to life, and while production is moving forward, we’re still fundraising to help us cross the finish line. Another hard drive find. To shoot this one I was strapped to the hood of our follow truck being driven by either @silasdunham or @coreymcnori . From one of @makewild earliest shoots in Big Sur. @ty_dunham was riding.
Senegal work! (Loom, boat yard, metal shop) Some b-roll I was able to shoot, edit, and grade while on location shooting a documentary project in Dakar, Senegal. Super thankful our director @sethcbrown encouraged us to hit the streets in hopes of grabbing some beautiful day-in-the-life shots!
