Presenting The Serving Library Annual 2022/23. Available for purchase online; link in bio. The genesis of this issue of The Serving Library Annual was a pre-pandemic proposal for a group show at the Clark Art Institute, themed on the meander. That project evolved into the two-person exhibition Tauba Auerbach and Yuji Agematsu: Meander (16 July – 16 October, 2022). The line that animates both, however, continues indefinitely. The Serving Library Annual 2022/23 includes contributions by Yuji Agematsu, Tauba Auerbach, Canal Street Research Association, Tamara Colchester, Laura Coombs, Anuja Dhir, Lauren Elkin, Jason Fulford, Anthony Huberman, Julije Knifer, Philip Ording, Federico Pérez Villoro, Emilie M. Reed, Eden Reinfurt, Ab Rogers, Laurel Schwulst, Mindy Seu, Tamara Shopsin, Hermione Spriggs, and Robert Wiesenberger. Edited by Francesca Bertolotti-Bailey, Stuart Bertolotti-Bailey, Vincenzo Latronico, David Reinfurt, and Robert Wiesenberger.

Please come *this* Saturday, January 11 at 6:00 pm to 38 Ludlow Street, Basement New York, NY 10002 where visiting-from-Brussels designer Julie Peeters offers BILL, a “magazine without words” and we offer something warm and red to drink. Conceived and edited by Julie with Elena Narbutaitė as associate editor, BILL publishes an annual issue that uses the logic of images to present photographs and image reproductions sourced from artists, archives, and rare book collections. Prioritizing visual reading without distraction, the images in the magazine are printed without any accompanying text. In the basement, the newest issue, BILL5 will be presented. This issue contains 192 offset printed pages printed in CMYK, silver, black and white on a dozen different paper stocks with some Japanese bound signatures, depicting sand, wind, tide, bills, tulips, LA, parking lots, waves, thoughts, bagels, prints, Tokyo, orchids, horses, backs, balm, magazines, updates, shadows, Elena's shoe, two mud-baths and a garage door. Contributors are Boyle Family, Jochen Lempert, Ketuta Alexi-Meskhishvili, Gillian Garcia, Beat Streuli, Takashi Homma, JP, Adrianna Glaviano, Mimosa Echard, Rosalind Nashashibi, Gerald Domenig, Christian Kōun Alborz Oldham, Martiniano, and Blommers Schumm. Some back issues and a limited edition newspaper will be available for purchase as well. *

At the end of shop hours on Saturday, we return to 2022 and will host the tasting of a whisky which spent the intervening 12 years aging in a barrel on a farm in Germany. We will screen a short video which follows the production of this spirit from the glass you hold in your hands backwards to the promise that set it in motion 12 years before. Please come to Dexter Sinister 38 Ludlow Street (basement) New York, NY 10002 on Saturday, December 10 6 pm The production of BLACK WHISKY is a joint undertaking by Dexter Sinister, publishers (New York, USA) and Stählemühle, distillers (Eigeltingen-Münchhof, Germany). —

Please come to Dexter Sinister 38 Ludlow Street (basement) New York, NY 10002 from Wednesday, December 7 - Saturday, December 10 12 to 6 pm daily where Dexter Sinister (Stuart Bertolotti-Bailey and David Reinfurt) will open a portal to the year 2010. Descend the stairs, push the mirrored door, and walk into the Just-in-Time Workshop & Occasional Bookstore 12 years in the past to find us selling issues of Dot Dot Dot, The Serving Library, O-R-G Softwares, and various printed matter from the archives in the back of the basement. We will also be filming a modest laser light show and serving a glass of warm spirit to all visitors. (It has been too long since Stuart was in New York, so please stop by and say hello.) The portal closes abruptly on Saturday at 6 pm, when we will all be transported back to 2022 to celebrate a whisky which spent the intervening 12 years in a barrel in southern Germany. That spirit is now mature, and we will host an event to mark the occasion Saturday night. (Details to follow.)
