Bud leads the team responsible for getting kids outside, connecting volunteers to the land, and cultivating a culture of stewardship across the Central Valley. Honored to share that Sequoia Riverlands Trust’s Belong Year-End Campaign has been recognized as a Winner in the 32nd Annual Communicator Awards🏆 Belong was built around a simple idea: everyone deserves to belong to a place, to a purpose, to a future. Through stories of students discovering conservation for the first time, volunteers restoring native habitat, farmers stewarding generational land, and communities coming together to protect California’s heartland, this campaign highlighted that conservation is ultimately about people. The campaign also inspired extraordinary support, raising $230,000 in year-end giving, the most successful year-end campaign in Sequoia Riverlands Trust’s history! This recognition belongs to every supporter, donor, volunteer, partner, and advocate who helped bring these stories to life and continues to make this work possible. Because when land is protected, people are too. 🎉 Happy Birthday to William Johnson, SRT's Preserves Operations Manager! @wliamjohnson brings something rare to conservation work—a business mind, a farmer's hands, and a comedian's heart. By day, he oversees SRT's preserves and leads our Workforce Internship Program, building career pathways for the next generation of land stewards. By night, he's hosting his own podcast on Central Valley hot topics and apparently keeping audiences laughing with his stand-up comedy and trademark playful capers. Oh, and he runs his own regenerative farm in Springville. Just casually. At home, William is a loving husband and a dad to two boys who are probably already learning that the best way to take care of something is to show up for it every day.
