In honor of Police Week, I welcomed deputies from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office to Washington and gave them a tour of the U.S. Capitol. I’ll always support our local law enforcement, and it was great to thank these deputies in person for their service to our communities.
I really enjoyed my tour of the City of Avenal’s Water Storage Tank Project. This critical upgrade will replace the aging 5-million-gallon tank that residents of Avenal depend on for clean drinking water and wastewater treatment. As a member of @houseappropsgop , I was proud to help secure $4 million in direct funding for these improvements, and I’m excited to see this investment in action!
This week, I had the privilege of welcoming almost 200 veterans to the U.S. Capitol for the Central Valley Honor Flight and Kern County Honor Flight. These Valley patriots fought to defend our nation and freedoms, and this program is a great way to recognize them for their service. Thank you to all the Guardians, volunteers, and participants who make this program possible.
This morning, I had the pleasure of welcoming Close Up Region 5 students from Kern County during the annual @closeup_dc trip to Washington, D.C. They asked some great questions about California water issues, the appropriations process, and my work as their representative. Thanks for visiting!
This week, I welcomed eighth graders from Hanford Christian School to our nation’s capital for their annual trip. It was great to meet with the students, teachers, and volunteers and answer their questions about my work in Washington.
Yesterday, I visited the Arvin-Edison Water Storage District to tour the North Canal Spreading Works Expansion Site.
This project will help convert land into groundwater recharge to strengthen water security for nearly 20,000 people, which is why I fought to secure a $2 million investment as part of the Fiscal Year 2026 Interior and Environment Appropriations Act.
As a member of @houseappropsgop , it's my priority to deliver real results for the Central Valley, and this is exactly the kind of project that really makes a difference!
I'm honored to receive the National Association of Community Health Centers' Distinguished Community Health Champion Award. Improving access to healthcare in our underserved communities is my top priority, and I'll keep fighting to advance policies that help us meet that goal.
This weekend, I had the honor of welcoming CMS Administrator Dr. Oz for a healthcare roundtable at @kernmedical_health alongside @repvincefong and over 50 healthcare providers from across the Valley.
Ensuring access to affordable, quality healthcare for Valley families is my top priority, which is why it was great to have Dr. Oz hear directly from local healthcare leaders about the challenges facing our hospitals and rural communities.
It was great to show the Lemoore Future Farmers of America around the U.S. Capitol today! Welcoming constituents when they’re visiting DC is one of my favorite parts of my job, and I’m happy I was able to give them a tour even amid the ongoing government shutdown.
It was an honor to attend Gurpurab to celebrate the birth of the first Sikh guru and founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak. I’m always grateful for the chance to join our Sikh-American community members in celebrating their faith and the culture they bring to the Central Valley.
Today I visited CAPK’s Bakersfield food pantry to hear from constituents how the shutdown is impacting them. With SNAP funding set to expire Nov. 1, Senate Democrats are running out of time to pass the budget extension and ensure our families can receive critical food assistance.
It was an honor to welcome Kern County veterans and Honor Flight volunteers to the U.S. Capitol yesterday. I was inspired by their stories of service and sacrifice, and I’m glad their visit continued as planned despite the ongoing government shutdown
