Endless thanks to the brilliant minds behind the Social Ontology Faces the Future (AI Workshop) at Koç University ANAMED. The care, vision, and intellectual generosity of the organizing team made this event truly special. It was an absolute pleasure to be part of it as a moderator. And endless thanks to keynote speakers Pekka Mäkelä and Christian List for their thought-provoking talks—your work truly shaped the spirit of the event. Professor Mäkelä’s work on collective responsibility, trust, and human-robot interaction brought crucial normative depth to our understanding of social robotics, while Professor List’s contributions in the philosophy of social sciences and mathematical philosophy provided a rigorous framework for engaging with the epistemological challenges posed by artificial agents. Each participant brought a unique and thoughtful perspective, making the workshop a truly memorable scholarly exchange. I was especially inspired by Irene Domenicale’s brilliant reflections on tokenized collective agency and how they reshaped my view on AI’s economic role. Strahinja Đorđević’s comparison of neural networks and social group structures was sharp and thought-provoking. And Niël Conradie’s reflections on AI and the medium relationship was very interesting. And of course, the workshop would not have been the same without Clara Reidl-Riedenstein’s illuminating questions—her interventions consistently sharpened the collective focus and enriched the conversation. Also special thanks to Davide Campagna, the marito 😌🫶🏻( @picture_guy_dc ), for the photos.

I am honoured that I got invited to Boğaziçi University, one of Turkey’s most prestigious institutions, today for first one of my University speeches on Media Archaeology. I am forever thankful to my Professors in Boğaziçi University and Büfet ( @bufet_boun ) members. Boğaziçi University holds a significant place in the nation’s academic and cultural landscape. Founded on the foundations of Robert College, an American school established in 1863, Boğaziçi University carries a rich legacy of academic excellence and intercultural exchange. Robert College was the first American educational institution outside the United States, symbolizing a bridge between Western educational practices and the Ottoman Empire. In 1971, the college was transformed into Boğaziçi University, maintaining its historical buildings that blend unique architectural styles—an amalgam of American and Ottoman influences set against the breathtaking view of the Bosphorus. These historical buildings not only preserve architectural heritage but also embody a long-standing tradition of liberal education, fostering a culture of openness, critical thinking, and social responsibility. Boğaziçi’s enduring commitment to these values makes it a key intellectual hub in Turkey, attracting students and faculty dedicated to excellence in research, innovation, and a global perspective on education. I remember when I was a student at Koç University’s AEPR class, my classmate and friend was writing a thesis on the rich architecture of this historical building. Thank you for everyone who attended today’s event. It’ll also be on YouTube soon ☺️🌸💕

PR Carnet World Magazine April–May 2026 Issue 12 In a world saturated with endless streams of information, images no longer simply document reality — they shape perception, memory, and collective consciousness. Every frame carries the power to reveal what societies choose to confront, and what they prefer to silence. The camera has become more than a technological tool; it is now a cultural witness standing between truth, narrative, and interpretation in the digital age. As media, artificial intelligence, and visual storytelling continue to evolve, the responsibility of communication grows deeper. The future of journalism, public relations, and global media depends not only on what we create, but on what we decide deserves visibility. Because long after headlines disappear, visual memory remains — reminding the world that every perspective carries the potential to influence history. @gokhancolakfounder @semfrau @tugbabahar @no_fame_no_fortune @joaocostaooficial @doroguzenda @edkashi @efiumi @kellymasonofficial @katjafasink @tugcebidav @prof_bennett @jamesgrunig @dejanvercic @shahira.fahmy1 #media #cinema #communication #artificialintelligence #culture

This interview series, titled “Rethinking Digital Culture: From New Media to AI, Algorithms, and Cultural Analytics,” offers a comprehensive intellectual exploration of the rapidly evolving dynamics of digital culture, centering on an in-depth conversation with Lev Manovich. Spanning from new media theory to artificial intelligence and algorithmic systems, the discussion questions whether existing theoretical frameworks remain adequate for understanding today’s digital landscape, while also examining whether platform culture represents continuity or a fundamental rupture. From the ideological dimensions of social media interfaces to their influence on cultural production, the questions aim to reveal the often invisible structures shaping the contemporary digital ecosystem. The interview further engages with the impact of cultural analytics, big data, and AI-driven production processes on aesthetics and creative agency. Through concepts such as “scroll culture,” speed-driven consumption, and micro-authenticity, it reconsiders digital aesthetics, while also addressing critical issues like the instability of digital archives, cultural memory, and the increasing convergence of media fields. Ultimately, this series not only analyzes current digital practices but also proposes a strong conceptual framework for understanding the future of cultural production. The interview will be published soon on the PR Carnet World magazine account and on our website, prcarnetworld.com.
