About Exhibiting Artists pt1
🟨Nikos Karpouzas [A Story to Tell] Project that “grows” out of the personal stories shared with Nikos after interacting with his installation at Design Week ‘24 and aims to give shape to those moments of connection, recognition, reflection and sharing.
🟥Mel Morales [InBetween] Multidisciplinary, Mexican artist presenting a documentation of recent travels, being with family and how it feels to be different from the people closest to you. Trying to stay grounded while learning from the differences.
🟩Sejal Suryawanshi [FCWIG - FindingCareWhereverIGo] Personal documentary about the many ways care finds us — in friendships formed, meals shared, and art made together in Groningen. This excerpt from the ongoing documentary presents a series of interviews showcasing interpersonal relationships that foster care through creation.
🟧Sytske de Graaf [STERRENHEMEL] Collage of around 300 star drawings, unfolding as a visual timeline. The collage reflects both a personal closing of a difficult chapter and the evolution of emotional states through color and form.

Crochet as: Sensory Self Care
A workshop for anyone who wants to learn to crochet!
Crochet is a feminist self-care practice that eases stress and anxiety through mindful handcraft. It’s fun, calming, and deeply grounding 😌
I’m hosting six crochet workshops for anyone who wants to learn, reconnect with the craft, or spend time crafting together. They take place at Achterpand every other Sunday starting March 1, and you’re welcome to join as many sessions as you like.
✧₊⁺ The first lesson is free! The following classes are €15.

Really excited to share my first mural! Thank you @curryme_nl team and @frayees14 for this opportunity and making this such a fun experience 🫶
The mural is an ode to all the women from South India who spend every day cooking three meals for their families, a labour of love that often goes unnoticed. Chef Fahd is heavily inspired by the women in his life who taught him how to cook and it’s these flavors that now Groningen gets to feel, savor and cherish through CurryMe.
The three part format shows the process of the food from the preparation to serving to eating, all with love and care. The hands are painted in the style of South Indian traditional dance aesthetic, a glamourous cherry on top 💅
