Big shout to @miakoden for playing this on her latest @themuddshow set. She’s grown into one of the best artists we have today and to have her play this release in physical form is a true blessing.
It’s amazing to be putting records out after all these years, despite the constant hurdles. Terrible government choices around trade, the rising cost of living and manufacturing. And yet, still reaching people who value art rather than something disposable.
From the ever growing design concepts with the graphic designer, to the mixing and premastering where artists shape their true vision; from the mastering and lacquer cut by engineers who understand how to translate frequencies as faithfully as possible from the digital master, to quality control at the pressing plant, safe delivery to distribution, and everyone who understands how deeply this music feeds our ecosystem from sound systems to underground culture.
Sometimes, all of this feels like walking a tightrope. It’s mostly hidden from fans and the wider public, and at any moment, anything can go wrong. But considering every step taken to make sure this is exactly how we want you to hear the music, it remains a truly magical process.
Long live the struggle, and the labour of love.
