For the last 12 weeks I’ve been a part of @andybcung ‘s story mentorship, after I took his Intro to Storyboarding course back in March (which I realize i still haven’t posted my boards from that! Whoops!)
This has been SUCH a rewarding experience for me, so much so that I’m going to be shifting my portfolio to be story focused and I won’t be pursuing character design as much. For the mentorship we had to write a script and then (of course) board it out. I chose to use my characters from my Fire Fairy story!
I learned SO MUCH in this class, as well as figuring out new techniques I’ll be implementing in more than just storyboards, like modeling simple 3d environments in sketchup so I have a consistent reference for perspective which is what I struggled with a lot early on.
I can’t wait to keep improving! Oh and be sure to check out my other classmates boards as well when they’re posted, they all did amazing!!!

It’s been almost a year since I’ve done this animation and I’m SUPER proud of myself, I learned a lot doing this. My mentor (and my boss LOL) also helped me out with this by giving me so many valuable critiques and advice! I’d like to do more stuff like this in the future, honestly! We’ll see if my schedule will let me, haha

Been working on this peice as fast as I can to get it ready in time for Lightbox, I managed to get half of it done so consider this part 1!! Also the subject matter is fitting since it’s almost Halloween and this deals with ghosts and shades :>
Originally this was a fan animatic but because I wanted it in my portfolio, when I cleaned it up I put in OCs instead! :)

Currently working on cleaning up another personal board (hopefully will be finished by Lightbox!) Originally this was a fan animatic, but I’m changing it to be more original to put it in my portfolio 😂
Here's some screenshots from what I have so far, the goal is to be able to get these to a more degree of finish by the end of October, but I'll be happy if I'm able to just get the acting and staging down.
