Sometimes life doesn’t ask. It just changes everything. Second Chance was created for that moment. The moment you realise the old version of life is gone… and you choose to build something powerful from what’s left. We’re here to help you regain confidence, reconnect with community, and get back into the things that make you feel alive — especially sport and movement. We are here to support your progress. For people who refuse to be defined by a circumstance. Welcome to Second Chance — where rebuilding is the mission. 🤍🔥 #secondchance #disabilitysupport #rehab #adaptivesports #strength

With the blessings of the stars, a few months ago I got to speak the @youngcareoz long lunch to raise funds for charity. I got to meet some amazing people, and had the opportunity to tell my story with @lizzie_pearl and the 9 team. Fast forward to now, my interview with @acurrentaffair9 will be shown tomorrow at 7pm on Channel 9. I was emotional throughout the interview, but hoping it sheds light on how participants are treated. So lucky to have been given this opportunity to have my story told on a national stage. ❤️

Introducing our Founder — Jolly Duong. Before the accident in 2024, Jolly lived in motion. Snowboarding. Canyoning. Triathlons. Anything outdoors, anything that tested the limits — that was home. Then life changed in an instant. But the fire didn’t. Today, Jolly’s taken that same drive into para-sport — and he’s not just participating, but building community, and pathways for everyone to participate in para-sports. Second Chance exists because Jolly knows what sport can do when life falls apart. It can rebuild confidence. Give you purpose. Bring you back to your people. And remind you that you’re still you — just with a different path forward. And if you’ve met him, you already know: there’s never a dull moment. The smile is real. The energy is contagious. The standard is simple — show up, have a crack, and back yourself. #secondchance #motivation #adaptiveathlete #powerliftingmotivation #archery

On Tuesday, Jolly was invited by @forwardabilitysupport and @brightskyaustralia to talk about how he turned his life around since suffering his spinal cord injury. He shared his story about what life has been like since and how Second Chances has given him the drive to help others rebuild confidence and find their strength and purpose through sport. Community days like these are important for those in the disability sector as it allows us to connect and reach out to those who aren’t aware what resources are available to them. Throughout the day we heard speakers such as Kelly-Anne Kerley whom suffered a traumatic brain injury and Duncan Wallace who is the Executive Director behind SpinalCure. Beyond this, we were able to connect with new faces and organisations who share similar values as us. Thank you to the Forward Ability Support and BrightSky team for inviting us out and organising an amazing community day, and thank you to all the organisations for coming out and having a chat. We hope to see more faces at the next one! #paraplegic #disability #spinalcordinjury #tbi #community

About one and a half years ago, whilst in rehab I went to Bupa's first come and try event as a participant. Little did i know then that I would be behind the desk a little while later encourage people like myself to get involved with para sports. It was an absolute blast to represent @ausparalympics , @parapowerliftingaustralia and @archeryaus 's para archery at the event this Saturday. Thank you @bupaaustralia , @disabilitysportsaustralia for hosting the event. Community engagement is where paralympians are discovered, and could not be more excited for the new cohort to come from this event.

You can have the best intentions in the world, but if the chair does not arrive, the equipment is delayed, or the process is confusing, it is the client who pays for it. Last week I had the pleasure of visiting Forward Ability Support and BrightSky Australia to see what really happens behind the scenes. Logistics are not just “back office” to the person waiting at home. They are the difference between getting to physio, getting back into the community, or being stuck. What stood out to me was the care taken to make sure people receive their consumables on time and that orders are accurate. That consistency matters. When the right products arrive when they are meant to, it removes unnecessary stress and gives people one less thing to fight for. I hear it from our clients all the time. They want clarity, consistency, and someone who communicates early and follows through. I also understand it personally. Since my injury, I have lived the gap between what the system promises and what actually shows up on the day. That is why I care so much about improving the client experience, not just the service on paper. Thank you for the warm welcome and the real conversations. @forwardabilitysupport @brightskyaustralia #wheelchairs #disability #accessibility #support #paraplegic

Para Powerlifting is one of the purest tests of strength. A sport where athletes defy limits, break barriers, and redefine what’s possible. It’s more than just a lift. This is a platform for courage, resilience, and excellence. Valentines Day spent with the crew at the NSW Grand Prix Para Powerlifting Comp Today did not go a planned to knock out the comp 100kg lift. But it did reinforce the importance of being flexible and pivoting to ensure you get the best outcome possible. Coming into this comp, my coaches @bigmaclifts and @tonymai.performance decided that 100kg should be good final attempt. But alas, I didn't have good technique on my second lift at 94kgs. We weighed up the options and decided to go with a 96kg, to secure a pb and focus on technique. And managed to clear it well! Participating in sports to me, is a commitment to show up in training, doing the 100s, and 1000s of reps to replicate the same on comp day. You need a bad of tricks to know that you can pivot your strategy, refine your technique on the day in comp. I am also glad that @benchqueen likes my smile 😃 ❤️✨️ Big thank you to @second.chances_ss 's strength and conditioning team for the ongoing training and willingness to work around my ups and downs. Massive thanks to @parapowerliftingaustralia , @courtney_nspcentre , @simonbergner_strengthcoach and all the volunteers for the guidance throughout this training block and the comp event itself. Cant wait to see everyone again at the next one and see the smiles as we continue to smash our goals together as one community 💪🙌✨️ 96kg Comp PB as a valentines gift is not bad ❤️

This Saturday Jolly will be rolling onto the bench down at Thirroul Surf Lifesaving Club, competing in @parapowerliftingaustralia NSW Grand Prix. @bigmaclifts and @tonymai.performance have their eyes set on Jolly hitting the big 100kg on the platform, just after hitting it recently during training at @breakthroughfitness_ . This will also be the competition where Jolly will get to put his name in @parapowerlifting books, competing as a sanctioned athlete and setting him up for Nationals this year. Treated by @daviddeng_chiro Tune in this Saturday at 12pm and show your support. The livestream link will be posted on the day and in our bio! #parapowerlifting #adaptiveathlete #bench #powerliftingmotivation #paraplegic
