One hundred twenty-ish years ago, my family built a farm in southern Missouri because my great-great-grandparents said the hills there reminded them of Italy. A few years ago, they decided to sell it. The farm used to be a local strawberry patch. It’s where I learned how to drive and first felt the power of nature by spending nights listening to screaming cicadas. Peaceful Acres was a museum to me and my first archive. I made a eulogy film in service to the history that is lost when a place is lost. And I found out my mom has been a historian all along! Score beautifully composed by @leahmckeehan Sound mix by @arciemusic Special thanks to @shymjustshym @gbilly4 @andreaehrhardt421 @_audreyroloff_ @mrajabwana @verdantartcollective @in_person_crit_club @josefwakemanmgf @millennium_film @stephen_incorporated

G and S first met at a wine bar they couldn’t afford. After abandoning the table, they worked together to find an alternate location. They would later state, “It felt like we were a couple from that moment forward.” On December 26, 2025, G and S celebrated their relationship by becoming domestic partners in order to expand their love and also share 💗insurance💗. That day, they signed paperwork at City Hall, enjoyed a tiramisu martini, and concluded the night at the same spot where their relationship began. Onlookers reported that S forgot to wear deodorant, but it didn’t ruin the celebration. The day was captured on 35mm color negative film by the couple themselves and strangers. On a night where the city was silenced by snow, G and S were warmed by their love. 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩
