@sdinnick was introduced to me by a friend when I was re-imagining Misstropolis as a multi-phase platform for championing women artists. We worked together on a piece called "Connection / Refraction: The Reassuringly Complex Photography of Sarah Dinnick" which was published July 9, 2020 i. Misstropolis.com (link@in bio). I promptly became obsessed/enamored/enthralled with Sarah's work and waited for a chance for us to work together again.
Well, here it is! Sarah is one of five artists in my new show "Painting with Light" which opens on May 1 at the Gallery at @jamesonandthompson in Jamaica Plain, MA. Opening party Friday May 1 6-8pm. You're invited 📸
"My work focuses on the interconnectedness of as many elements and layers as possible, reaching from the distance of the camera's lens and density of the surroundings through to an evocation of intimacy."
Sarah's photographs will be on view, and on sale, from May 1 through June 12, 2026. Do not miss this.

Come and say hi. ✨
On view from May 1 through June 12 at The Gallery at J&T in Jamaica Plain, the show examines how light—ethereal and impossible to hold—can transform ordinary subjects into moments for transcendence.
“Sarah Dinnick’s work enhances the exhibition’s meditative tone, deepening the theme of resilience and bridging the gap between observation and abstraction. Her photographs rely on a compositional insistence that recalls the formalist rigor of Alfred Stieglitz and the geometric, reflective experiments of Florence Henri. Dinnick uses light to play with line and pattern, reminding us that we have agency in our ways of seeing. Moments and memories take shape. Her formal restraint is both defiance and embrace; light becomes the threshold through which interior reflection takes place.”
