When it feels rewarding to actually contribute. We moved one of our 3D printers to the United Nations today in a project by Handicap International to showcase 3D printing of protheses at the UN’s anti-personnel mine ban convention. It’s a perfect example of why our SDGfablab exists. And why we do what we do. It was worth all the wrong test prints at the lab and the security issues to actually drive in.

Preparation of new @addictlab activities for upcoming coding and robotics lessons. 3D printing remote controls to fit the @microbit_edu . Check the support needed to print these. We Are using PLA as this is not plastic but based on corn. Collaboration with @cern.microclub and linked to an intern and home schooling program.

Another weekend, more birthday parties in our lab. Preparations were going on during this most active week in which we discussed VR and AI in the class room, did workshops in schools on electric circuits, repaired the laser cutter and launched a new SDGzine. ‘Can all girls at the birthdaylab have custom designed rings?’ - Challenge accepted.
