From Cardston Alberta to Hollywood Blvd it never hurts to channel your inner Fay Wray and give a scream queen shriek into the prairie winds. Fay was born in 1907 in southern AB and became world famous in 1933s King Kong amongst other horror roles in a six decade career. Luckily there aren’t any big apes in Cardston - just a beauty of a town with some character old brick buildings, charming homes, local businesses and landscapes that would make for a perfect location in your next production or visit to the fountain commemorating her on the way to town attractions like the Remmington Carriage Museum, the Temple and the Cobblestone Manor. @screenlethbridge #filmfriendlysouthwestalberta

Lethbridge 🤝 Calgary 🎥 Anyone else excited that Reminders of Him is now in theatres? Based on the Colleen Hoover novel, it was filmed just up the road from us in Calgary, Bragg Creek, Nanton, Longview, and High River. As Lethbridge builds capacity in its creative industries it’s Pretty cool to see our neighbours on the big screen! 🎬

Great Community Conversation event today at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena, a chance for the public to learn about City of Lethbridge initiatives and share input. Film Services Representative Ismail Okasha and Director of Creative Industries Brock Skretting discussed Screen Lethbridge updates and the Creative Industries Feasibility Study coming later this year. It was also wonderful to learn in more depth about the outstanding work our colleagues throughout various City of Lethbridge departments do to help make it such a special place to live. Inspired by the recent news of Calgary ranking #4 and Edmonton #22 on MovieMaker Magazine’s Top Places to Live & Work as a Filmmaker list, Alberta has lots to offer the creative industries and Lethbridge is proud to contribute to making it easy to film or develop your creative projects here.

Samwise Gamgee aka SAG AFTRA President Sean Astin taking part in what appears to be some sort of unique Potato Growers of Alberta advertisement during last years Calgary Expo convention 🥔 With so many amazing farms to choose from in Canada’s Premier Food Corridor and Alberta producing 27% of Canada’s Potatoes it’s hard to imagine how long it would’ve taken him to select the perfect spud  🍟 A record-setting year for potato production shows what our growers can achieve with the right conditions and strong local processing. We are so Proud of Alberta’s potato farmers and the role they play in feeding Canadians and supporting our economy. Rural Alberta shout-out alert 🎬 On HBO’s Hacks Season 4, Episode 5 Alberta got a mention - congrats to Jean Smart on her Golden Globe win Sunday night for best female actress musical or comedy for this season 🏆✨ Now the real question: if chaotic TikTok legend character “Dance Mom” were real… what rural Alberta town is she definitely from? 🤠💃 Drumheller? Fort Macleod? Taber?

Had an incredible time in Mohkínstsis (Calgary) at the Alberta premiere of #skoden at CUFF.Docs 2025! Director Damien Eagle Bear and Mark Brave Rock were in the house for this powerful, moving documentary about the true origin of “Skoden” and the iconic Pernell Bad Arm photo from Kainai/Blood Nation. The documentary covered challenging topics of solutions and supports for homeless people in Lethbridge we got to learn how Damien has been able to be on the road to various festivals for the past six months thanks to the film. Huge thanks to TELUS and the Calgary Underground Film Festival for championing this story. Catch #skoden in 2026 if you can, it’s absolutely worth it. 💛 🎥✨ 📸 @elysebouvier #Skoden #BlackfootFilmmaking #IndigenousStorytelling #CUFFDocs #Mohkinstis #Lethbridge #CalgaryArts #IndigenousVoices #ScreenLethbridge #KeepAlbertaRolling #abfilm #albertafilm #calgaryundergroundfilmfest #cuff

Die My Love is a film made in and around Calgary, Okotoks and Didsbury starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson - an emotionally charged tale that follows a woman’s slow descent into postpartum psychosis. The art film is garnering oscar buzz for its lead and while definitely not for everyone (adult themes) it is a film with a strong message. Pictured - Galaxy Cinemas in Lethbridge. So cool this filmed just a few hours north of the city with some talented people in Alberta’s Screen Industry. @mubicanada
