I've been thinking about sheds a lot. . . . I've seen a lot of people sharing their top posts of 2024 as we roll into 2025 so here's mine. Fun fact! See the gap in my front teeth? I ran into a tree while snowboarding and it knocked one of my teeth out of place. (I also stabbed a hole in my cheek, but never posted that video. You're welcome.) The ski patrol (s/o Mission Ridge) told me I should see a dentist, but also that the tooth would probably shift back?! I went to the ER, but skipped the dentist. My tooth eventually shifted back into place. Wild. What is very weird is someone actually sent me a shed after see this reel! Life is strange. Life is very strange. Don't give up on your dreams. I'm so mad you're dead, Jason. Not cool. Is that a weird way to start this? Yes, but you would have laughed. I never in a million years thought that would be the last time we would see each other. Such a beautiful day. We were all together at Stevens with Michael dressed up as Dolly. (In all the sadness that part makes me laugh) We talked about future trips and had sunny laps with the boys. We had plans to go to Banked Slaloms with our families. We shared drinks and laughed with Michael and Katie in the sunshine. Whenever we are all together there is always so much love and laughter. It all feels so easy and natural. The older I get the worse I am at friendship but when I met you I knew we were going to be friends. It was like we found something that had been missing. There was an open seat and you all invited us to sit down. I'm not tight with a lot of people. I don't let a lot of people in, but you and Katie are different. I was sold immediately. In the past year your family quickly became another family for me and Sebastien. I was so stoked to have two more "snowboard nephews" in the crew to watch grow up. Your house feels like a second home to us. I was excited to spend more time with you all there staying up too late because I didn't want the night to end and then going snowboarding in the morning wishing I had gone to bed earlier. We smoked cigars in the lot at Mission Ridge after a long day this season and I remember thinking I am so happy to have met you. I could have stayed in that moment forever. We talked for so long that Janelle went to go sleep in the car. My life is so much better with you in it. You are one of the most kind, thoughtful, curious and caring people. Genuine. You actually take interest in people and want to hear their stories. You aren't just a person who talks. You back in up. You gave a damn. You saw cruelty in the world and fought against it daily with love and compassion. I love you, Jason. I miss you so much. I will carry the lessons I learned from you for the rest of my life and will hold you in my heart always. Rest in peace. #ripjbone
