It’s the start of “Wages & Cost of Living Increase” week in the ADG CAT’s “Weekly Informational Topics” series, and this one speaks for itself!
Negotiations with the AMPTP restarted April 29th for the benefits plan and the basic agreement, where we will negotiate the percentage wage increases for IATSE members over the next 3 years. As this chart shows, the people we are negotiating with are being paid a fortune, and their pay has increased massively over the past 5 years.
At the March 3rd rally, IATSE President and chief negotiator Matt Loeb said “we are the antidote to the greed that’s been laid upon us,” and we stand with him and the rest of our negotiating team as they take that message to the bargaining table!

Today we mourn the loss of crew members who should still be with us today: Brent Hershman, Sarah Jones, Halyna Hutchins, and J.C. “Spike” Osorio.
Brent was taken from us when he had to work excessive hours and did not make it home safely. Studies have shown that productivity is extremely low after 55 hours of work in a week, and the WHO has concluded working 55 or more hours is associated with an increased risk of disease and death.
The motto for Workers Memorial Day is “Mourn the Dead, Fight for the Living”, and we must carry that idea with us every day.
