The mysterious world of Widow’s Bay on Apple TV+ comes to life through richly layered costume design by CDG member Alex Bovaird. ✨
Set in a strange New England island town where curses, secrets, and unsettling events linger beneath the surface, the series uses costume to deepen the eerie atmosphere and define its unforgettable characters.
“Widow’s Bay is a place time abandoned — the costumes reflect an atmosphere that feels both familiar and impossible to name. Episode 4 belongs to Patricia and her reinvention. She’s a rich tapestry of quirks: courage gemstones, flamingo brooches, kilts, and sensible shoes. My brilliant New England team helped steep every character in the strange, salt-soaked brew of the island.”

Recreating the world of Michael Jackson for the screen meant building an entire visual legacy from the ground up.
In a new Vanity Fair article, Michael costume designer and CDG member Marci Rodgers shares how she approached the monumental task without access to Jackson’s original archive, relying instead on deep research, historical references, and an obsessive attention to detail to capture each era authentically. ✨
“From the socks to the gloves, I mean everything… what Jaafar put on would be no different from the day that Michael Jackson put on that garment.” She continues, “I studied the research. I would literally compare not just what was in my book, but I also had old archives of Jet magazines. Any and everything that I could find at the time that might have had a clear picture of Michael and his brothers that would inform my final decision when it came to recreating all of the garments.”
Congratulations to CDG member Marci Rodgers as we were completely spellbound by the level of detail and dedication behind this work.
