Rest in Peace CDO 016 “Manic.”
A loyal mate, protector, and working dog who served with distinction in the 2nd Commando Regiment.
Manic served from November 2015 to December 2020, including operational service in Iraq in 2016 and Tactical Assault Group duties from 2018–2020.
More than just a military working dog, he was a brother to his handler @harvey_specter45 and teams who worked beside him.
Anyone who met him knew his personality instantly — hard-hitting when it mattered, endlessly loyal to his people, and always chasing affection the second the job was done.
Dogs like Manic leave a mark far beyond service. They stand beside men in dangerous places without hesitation, ask for nothing in return, and give absolute loyalty until the very end.
His duty is done now.
Condolences to his handler @harvey_specter45 . You did him proud mate, you two were a great team.
Manic. CDO 16.
Rest easy mate. 🐾

John Dixon
In my interviews for Book Two, a few characters appear repeatedly. One of those is @johns_op .
Dicko was one of the first operators I met after being badged, and he is arguably one of the most experienced warfighters from the Regiment during the GWOT era. Some of his stories are so insane they almost seem unbelievable. I assure you, they’re not. This is not a fiction book.
Stay tuned. You won’t want to miss this.
Book Two — out early 2027.
Double Diamond TBI Club
Another day at Holsworthy ensuring all operators have zero short-term memory but maximum DVA impairment points when they discharge. Still worth it 🤟🏻 #ytfb

Declan Redmond
Another former unit operator who features in the second book. After a gunfight on the way back over the contact site, the way @recdedmond found an enemy fighter sitting against a wall is one of the more bizarre stories you won’t want to miss.
As we’re both ex-RAR, Declan also shares my views on how the RAR was employed in Afghanistan.
These are insights no journalist can replicate—this comes from those who were there. You’re not just reading this book, you’ll live it.
Book Two — 2027.

Greg ‘Robbo’ Robertson — Still Serving with the ASA
Greg is another former Sergeant from the Regiment and a unit sniper I completed my Reinforcement Training Cycle with in 2007.
Robbo is the founder and President of the @army_sniper_association Some of Robbo’s stories will feature in Book Two, due out in 2027.
The ASA is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting the capability, welfare, and education of past, present, and future Australian Army snipers, while continuing to honour their contribution to Australia’s security.
They’re doing important work supporting the sniper community—both those still serving and those who’ve transitioned out.
Give them a follow and check out what they’re building 👉 .au

The Hills Have Eyes ◇◇
📸 Former Unit operator @mickstanberg , who I completed my Reinforcement Training Cycle with in 2007, in a sniper overwatch position with a team member in southern Afghanistan.
Some of Mick’s stories, among many others, will be told in Book Two — out in 2027. Many of them read like fiction—they’re that unbelievable. I assure you, every word is true.
