INTRODUCING THE BAND! Wie zijn de spelers & staff achter HIIIT? We stellen ons veelzijdige team graag één voor één aan je voor. Naam: Dirge Kuran Producties: Battles & Silences, De Materie Favoriete drummer: Heb ik niet echt, maar vooruit: Joey Castillo van Queens Of The Stone Age ramt er op Era Vulgaris lekker op los. Vroegste muzikale herinnering: Op mijn zevende probeerde ik een band te beginnen; met mijn buurjongens zongen we liedjes met behulp van preset keyboards. Werkte niet echt, dus toen ben ik solo doorgegaan als componist van reclamejingles voor parfums en zeepjes. Leuk weetje over mij: ik draag nooit géén zwart. Battles & Silences – in samenwerking met @anthony_fiumara en @mathijsleeuwis – wordt uitgevoerd op zaterdag 25 april in Den Haag bij Korzo (@korzotheater ). Een installatie van het project is van maandag 4 mei tot en met zaterdag 16 mei gratis te bezoeken in Amare (@openamare ). - - - INTRODUCING THE BAND! Who are the players & staff behind HIIIT? We’re happy to introduce our versatile team to you, one by one. Name: Dirge Kuran Productions: Battles & Silences, De Materie Favourite drummer: I don’t have one but Joey Castillo (QOTSA) in the Era Vulgaris album is smashing it in my favourite way. Earliest musical memory: Around 7 years old, I tried to form a band with two neighbour kids to sing on some preset songs of an old keyboard. It didn’t work out, so I switched to creating jingles for perfumes and soaps at home. Fun fact about me: I have multiple of the same black clothes. If it is not an occasion, you will see me with the same outfit each time. Battles & Silences - in collaboration with @anthony_fiumara and @mathijsleeuwis - wil be performed Saturday April 25 in The Hague at Korzo (@korzotheater ). En hoe zou dat klinken? Een intieme uitvoering van Battles & Silences gisteren bij de fijne concertreeks van @de_link in Tilburg - met een aandachtig en nieuwsgierig publiek tijdens de Q&A achteraf. Jostijn Ligtvoet ( @jostijnligtvoetfotografie ) verzorgde het licht en maakte de foto's. De thematiek van de voorstelling blijft pijnlijk actueel. Op zaterdag 25 april komt de bel naar Korzo (@korzotheater ) in Den Haag. - - - An intimate performance of Battles & Silences yesterday at the wonderful concert series by @de_link in Tilburg — with an attentive and curious audience. ZEEANEMOMEN DIEP 🌊 In tegenstelling tot wat veel mensen denken, zijn zeeanemonen geen planten, maar dieren. Zeeanemonen kunnen zich langzaam voortbewegen. Als ze een plek hebben gevonden die ze qua lichtinval en waterstroming prettig vinden, blijven ze vaak lang op dezelfde plek zitten. Zoals op de schouders van musicus Dirge Secil Kuran. Eva Arends heeft in samenwerking met John Thijssen zeeanemonen zo ontworpen dat ze zelfstandig bewegen op haar rug. With Battles & Silences, @poulson_sq and @hiiit_music reverse history: where church bells were once melted into weapons, now battlefield debris becomes music. This project began when 8kg of Ukrainian bullet casings were melted down in Kyiv, then cast into a new 45kg bell in the Netherlands—transformation from destruction to beauty. 🛎️ Electronic duo Poulson Sq. Een kleine muzikale sfeerimpressie van Dante Songbook, want op zondag 28 september om 15:00 spelen wij op @septembermefestival ! Is liefde en verbinding mogelijk zonder de donkere dieptes te verkennen? De Italiaanse dichter Dante Alighieri geloofde van niet. In zijn Goddelijke Komedie daalt hij af door de negen kringen van de hel om de liefde te vinden. Op 28 september daal ik in tekst en muziek af in Dantes Inferno en mijn eigen ziel, op zoek naar liefde én duisternis. Met Dante als gids maken we een duizelingwekkende tocht langs mysterie, symboliek, chaos en innerlijke vragen naar de diepte, waar Dantes eeuwenoude poëtische inzichten betekenis geven aan mijn leven van nu. Ik ben ontzettend blij ik deze reis mag maken met multi-instrumentalisten @sclkrn , @ctverbeek en @yannapelser op het toneel en achter de knoppen @snoeiwouter (geluidsontwerp) en @robinberg24 (lichtontwerp). Volgend najaar gaat deze voorstelling op tournee, maar dat duurt nog even, dus ben je benieuwd, kom dan 28 sep om 15:00 naar @delievevrouw in Amersfoort!
