Here’s the arsenal from today’s sessions at @sunsetsoundrecorders - we recorded with @schreffman @drumsetartist @stationhousestudio and @natehaze - we have my @gibsonguitar #thunderbird - my #crown #hofner copy - and 2 @fender #pbass - one is more standard and one has a cool p and j bass pickup set. And all have the amazing @labellastrings - I also got to play the @moogsynthesizers in the background and got to double my bass part on Moog in the style of @steviewonderoficial and @bernie_worrell_official with #pfunk - another great day in the studio. I love LA.

It’s great to be back home in L.A. recording this week with my great and talented friends @schreffman and @drumsetartist at @sunsetsoundrecorders with @stationhousestudio and @natehaze on a new @shooterjennings production. The three of us have done countless shows and sessions together and it just keeps getting more inspiring each time.

I’d like to congratulate the amazing @robertrandolph for winning the Grammy for best contemporary blues album! I am honored to have played on this record so this is actually my 2nd Grammy for bass playing. It’s also amazing that many of my deeply talented friends get to share in the thrill of this @shooterjennings for producing, @davidspreng for recording and mixing, @drumsetartist for playing drums and @schreffman for his guitar playing. We recorded the basic tracks at @villagestudios and then Shooter and David did so much more inspired work on this record at @sunsetsoundrecorders and @davesroomstudio #grammy - and When will the love rain down is one of the first songs we all tracked together for the record. #whatanhonor

We had a great day at @stationhousestudio yesterday. The great @joel_hofmann_band flew in from Texas for the week so we could continue working on his new record and we had @schreffman playing guitar and #pedalsteel @coolhairlive playing guitar and keyboards and @jimdoyledrums on drums and percussion. I played some @fender and @gibsonguitar basses with @labellastrings and am producing as well. #whatagreatday
