Thank you @buero_doppio and @das.kreativwerk for your invite to speak at the panel during @munich_creative_business_week Most of you might know anyway with which things I went into this convo. One big topic was responsibility… We looked at it from every angle - from safety in the mountains and also the right behaviour up there and showing respect to the Bergrettung, to the ethics behind run club and their sponsorships and creator brand deals. As consumers you hold immense power. YOU decide who gets a platform and whose products YOU buy. Your attention is literally your currency. And it’s sooo easy to get hyped by a brand or a person you admire. But blind loyalty can blur your morals. So please remember!!! ALL people make mistakes and brands fail their communities (= customers) and therefore stand with your standards and your values and keep questioning the world around you. Be mindful of who you give a platform to and stay critical, don‘t blind follow, ask questions and think for yourself „does this align with my morals“. And on the other hand I talked to a few brands there and it was suuuper refreshing to hear that they are actively stepping away from the toxic „Bigger, Better, Faster“ stuff and instead they are shifting their focus toward moral responsibility and actual expertise. They told me that they want to support real experts and athletes and people who actually know what they r doing. No more DANGEROUS mismatches just for clicks! So, seeing (some of) the industry choose safety and ethics over pure hype is such a important and necessary move. Long term this is and will be a massive win !!!
