🌟 Maker Story Series – Meet Carin from Scarlett Sky Studio
We’re kicking off our series introducing the makers we’re working with this year. First up is Carin, a Brighton‑based leather worker behind Scarlett Sky Studio, creating timeless handmade bags and accessories. @scarlettskystudio
Carin’s love of making started young, inspired by her Mum sewing beautiful clothes for her and her sisters. She went on to work in fashion as a stylist, and later discovered upholstery and leatherwork, a material that quickly captured her heart.
Her journey led her to designing handbags, initially as a hobby, and eventually as a small business. She’s been a consistent presence at @themakersfair events where her bags always sell like hot cakes (especially amongst the fellow exhibitors!) We often cross paths on the Artists Open House circuit where we've spent several invigilating sessions together as guest artists. Carin is always so glamorous and serene, a quality that is beautifully reflected in her brand and the style of her pieces. 👌
Her work is all about quality, simplicity, and longevity, creating pieces that wear in, not out.

The May Makers Fair returns to Standen House & Garden!
Meet over 50 makers, artists and designers showcasing their heritage craft and contemporary design skills with demonstrations throughout the day on the Croquet Lawn.
Housed under a large marquee and nestled in the picturesque grounds of Standen House, you will find ceramics, textiles, jewellery, printmaking, luxury clothing, handcrafted leather bags and so much more.
It’s a great day out and a wonderful opportunity to shop directly from the makers themselves!
