Kie's Quirk is Air Manipulation which is pretty much how it sounds; subtle work like barometric pressure and oxygen density changes, to pressurised air blades and boosts. She's very mutable. First time her Quirk revealed as a little girl, she sneezed and shot herself several feet in the air. 🤣 The Air Manipulation Quirk comes from her Dad's side of the family, her uncle Ren Asakura; previously known as the North Wind Hero: Boreas. Watching an empty Kaiba being lead away was a rock to Yugi's stomach, but at the sound of Jonouchi's; "Hey! What the hell do you think you're doing?! Drop her, you creep! Or I'll knock you off this balcony!" He looked up, his heart racing to see Croquet with his hands firmly on Piper's shoulders. Fingers digging into the thick plaid shirt. The panic in her eyes was real, she flung her hands up in a universal 'stop' gesture. "Don't! They'll kick you out!" Croquet's gaze was impenetrable behind the dark glasses, but what was visible of his face was impassive. This was just part of the job. Dragging off teenagers because his boss demanded it. "Miss Wren sees the bigger picture, even if she broke her own contract." He jostled Piper so she was briefly off her feet, to her credit. She pushed her fear down and gritted out; "Worth it." Yugi pushed from the balcony to reach for her impulsively. "Piper!" Her gaze locked onto his. "Stop! I'll be fine! Yugi, just win this!" At that, Croquet frogmarched her away from the group down the corridor and around the corner. Out of sight. Slowly he dropped his hand into a fist at his side, this was what she got for doing the right thing? For letting her integrity guide her?! It wasn't fair! He barely registered Anzu's hand on his shoulder. He'd just added another person to his seemingly growing list to rescue from Pegasus. "Shit..." Robyn breathed, running her hands through her hair. Trying to centre herself, she was tough; yeah. But she didn't feel it right now. She was so stuck in her head that she didn't even register Jonouchi's approach. "Robs?" Pull it together, Davenport. Robyn turned to face him, she tried to smile but it didn't reach her eyes; so she abandoned the attempt. "Yeah? I'm fine." Jonouchi shot her a look. "Yeah? And Kaiba's not a stuck up rich boy, both ain't true. Come on, California. Talk to me." Damn. Robyn threw her hands up in frustration. "Alright, this whole thing is nuts!That headcase put Mai in that hospital bed and I'm worried you're going to be next in the firing line." The words hung in the air between them, it felt like showing her underbelly. Admitting that, after all. It wasn't like they'd known eachother long. But they felt cut from the same cloth. "I'm not telling you to back out, because that's pointless...but just don't be next." He closed the distance between them and rested his hands on her shoulders, squeezing gently. "What? You think I won't be wiping the floor with him?" Robyn sighed. "I didn't say that, I'm just telling you to be frigging careful. It's more than just losing a game on the line." His expression was resolute. "I know and I promise, I've got this. Just promise me somethin'." She felt her eyes prick dangerously, nope. She was not about to go to pieces. "Yeah, what?" His hands shifted up to cup her face, they were warm, his fingertips slightly rough. Her own brushed the back of his hand in reply. "Just be there cheerin' me on." He was close now, his bangs brushed her forehead. "What? You think I wouldn't be?" She shot his own answer back at him, even if her voice was tighter than she'd like. There was a pause before he leaned in- "Jonouchi, it's time to-oh." Honda had stuck his head out of the room and was looking at them. The tips of his ears had gone pink. Robyn and Jonouchi sprang apart like Honda had thrown a bucket of water over them. "Jeez, don't *do* that!" He grumbled at Honda, a flush had started meandering up the back of his neck. Stellarwind Debut! Kie pulled him under one of the large trees at the edge of the crowd, the spring blossoms over but reams of paper sprigs and blooms brought colour to the greenery. She got onto her tiptoes to scan for their conspicuously missing friends. "Do you see them?" It was then that Ken realised she was talking to him. And he'd been gazing at her like a fool, Ken cleared his throat and made a point of actually looking. He saw several faces he recognised from class, but no sign of Mirio, Takami or Nejire. "Er...no, I don't think so." Kie planted her free hand indignantly on one hip in a way that made him want to smile. She sighed. "Think Amajiki made a break for it or something?" Ken reached above his head and plucked a sprig of the decorative paper blossoms, holding them out to Kie. "Maybe...but we've done fine, right?" He didn't mean for it to sound like a question. But Kie cupped his hand holding the paper flower with her own, her fingers brushing his skin. The tingle going up his arm. "Yeah, we have. Even if I got barred from the ring toss for using my Quirk." She grinned wickedly. "Quite possibly even then." Ken agreed, the smallest smile at his lips. Kie laughed and there was a sudden flash just in their periphery. When they both turned to look, Nejire was striding out of the crowd with Tamaki in tow. She was shaking a polaroid. "There you two are! We turned around and poof! You were gone!" Ken raised a brow. "Tell that to Togota." Nejire glossed over this as the picture finished developing. "Oh Ken, look you aren't making your photo face!" She waved the photo at him while he stifled a groan, it wasn't his fault he didn't like cameras. But he took it to have a proper look, Kie leaned in beside him to peer at the image. They looked...happy, Kie's eyes were closed in mid laugh. Ken was looking at her like she was his. "It's a good one of us." Kie said warmly. "Yeah...it is." "I don't think the fire's a very good life coach." Piper's voice rang out as she approached, Yugi flushed. He'd been thinking aloud, about the entire situation. "Sorry, I thought everyone was sleeping..." She sat down on the log beside him, she'd thrown the double layered eliminator's gauntlet into the flames but seemed to be wearing a regular contestant's version. Yugi raised his brows. "Uh...Piper? Is that Jonouchi's?" She held out her hand. "Yeah, that boy didn't even notice. Sleeps like the dead." Piper clocked Yugi's expression and gave a dry chuckle. "I'm not going to run off with his chance to save his sister. Guess I just wanted to see what it would have felt like. Being here to compete instead of-" she trailed off, looking into the crackling fire. "Have you figured out what you're going to do?" Yugi asked. Piper threw an arm around his neck, leaning in conspiratorially. Yugi felt his face flame at the proximity. "Oh yeah, all the good stuff. Break into the Castle, kidnap and hold to ransom some staff, maybe steal a helicopter for a dramatic escape." Then she gave a dark, wry laugh and loosened her hold. "Or maybe I'm just seriously out of my depth...you know, it'll be something like that." Piper let him go and Yugi could feel the phantom weight and warmth where her arm had been. He was quiet for a moment before he forced the words out. "I want to help you get out of this..." She gave a slightly sharp laugh that suggested she treated kindness with a level of suspicion. "Why would you stick your neck out for me? You don't know me." Yugi's resolute expression didn't shift. "You stuck up for Mai." Piper had. Or at least tried to when Player Killer's duel with her started to get out of hand. "Yes, we've established I'm an idiot." She retorted dryly. "An idiot with integrity, but still an idiot." "So you all set, California?" Jonouchi leaned one hand just above her head, be cool, confident; like he talked to pretty girls *all* the time. Second nature! Then Robyn loosely crossed her arms over her chest and looked up at him, the smirk dancing at the corners of her mouth. "Don't you worry about me, Babe. I'm solid." *Babe.* There it was again. Jonouchi felt heat start creeping it's way up the back of his neck. He seriously needed to get it together, he couldn't go red everytime she called him that. Robyn was from California, she probably called everyone and their Grandma 'Babe'. But tell that to his stomach, which was currently doing a hitch kick. "Good! Right, yeah-" Oh man, words, they were there somewhere. He was suddenly very aware of what he was doing with his other hand and planted it on his hip in an effort to look relaxed. "Sure you do. "Can I ask you somethin'?" Jonouchi rested his chin into the cradle of his forearm. Robyn looked up from the card she was studying. "Like?" She put Altair back on the table so she could pay attention to him. "Like about your first big tournament." Robyn chuckled. "Oh man, that guy from registrations was one hundred percent sure I was with the cartel." She'd said this so casually that it took him a second for his brain to catch up. "You wanna run that one past me again, California?" Robyn shrugged. "Everyone else was paying their entrance fee with a credit card. I didn't have one of those, just a wad of used bills from street duels."
