Pic of the Week: Robert Redding Joshua Tree #3 2025 Acrylic and Oil on canvas 48” x 32”   “Just because you wander the desert, it does not mean there is a promised land.” — Paul Auster, The Invention of Solitude “California is my home and my subject. There is a profound vastness to its coast and desert, spaces that serve as reminders of our human scale. I spend time traveling in this harsh and beautiful landscape, carefully choosing my viewpoint to include both natural and man-made elements. My choice of painting, not photography is an important one. My interest is not straight documentation. Painting offers an emotional connection to the subject that is not offered in other mediums. Each painting is rendered with the hope the viewer feels the presence of these environments as I have.” —Robert Redding #joshuatree #artgallery #contemporarylandscapepainting #desertvibes @robertreddinga

ART in NATURE Pics of the week “Shy Society” Studio Drift @studio.drift Hello from the Venice Biennale! The installation unfolds in a carefully timed pattern of luminous elements, their movement synchronised to a rhythm that echoes a human resting heartbeat. As the studio puts it, “Shy Society creates a shared temporal experience that subtly aligns viewers’ perceptions and encourages moments of pause and reflection, fostering coherence between people and space.” It is an unusually generous gesture for a public artwork — one that slows things down rather than demanding attention. @arjenvaneijk @marsilioarte @venice.art.biennale #contemporaryartinstallation #venicebiennale #happytobehere #installationart #studiodrift

Huge thank you to Luxe Magazine @luxemagazine for the magnificent 22-page spread in their latest issue. An extra thank you to talented interior designer Lisa McDennon @lisamcdennon and @valiaproperties and @nicholson.companies —for continuing to trust SCAPE and share another opportunity for us all to collaborate. We certainly have a long history of working together but this one was definitely one for the records and a stand-out highlight so far. Celebrating this home & annual fun with @cdmhometour2026 and sponsor @valiaproperties in March was definitely an added bonus. 🏡❤️

Pic of the week: Ceramic work by Stacy Solodkin Odine, 2026 Porcelain Vessel 16 x 16 x 16 in Cosette, 2026 Porcelain 19 x 11 x 11 in Juliet, 2026 Porcelain 12 x 9 x 13 in Tulip, 2026 Porcelain 7 x 12 x 3 in Charlotte, 2026 Porcelain Vessel 8 x 14 x 8.5 in Stacy Solodkin’s work explores the expressive potential of form and surface, merging a sculptural sensibility with a refined attention to texture and material nuance. She embraces the full spectrum of her materials, treating each piece as the visible result of a journey through fire. Every fold and crack becomes an opening—a map and a mirror for the viewer. Rather than concealing this process, she honors it, allowing each work to exist fully and authentically on its own terms. #contemporaryceramics #porcelain #artcollector #artgallery #porcelainvessels

ART in NATURE Pic of the week White Square Dani Karavan @dani.karavan “White Square” (Kikar Levana) is a prominent environmental sculpture by Israeli artist Dani Karavan located in Edith Wolfson Park in Tel Aviv, Israel. Staying connected to our recent exhibition theme The Language of Trees, this sculpture is made of white concrete and includes a split dome with an olive tree growing between the sections, symbolizing peace and fertility.  The installation is designed to be experienced physically, allowing visitors to climb and interact with its various elements. #peace #concretesculpture #publicart #interactiveart #contemporarysculpture

This was an unexpected and super fun, recent art installation experience worthy of sharing! Ie: When three become six—reflections doubling the rhythm, extending the conversation. In this install with Casper Brindle’s light glyphs the mirror doesn’t just echo the work; it amplifies it, opening the space and letting color and light move beyond the space itself. Double the pleasure / double the fun! #casperbrindleart #artexpansion #minimilistart #lightandspacemovement #socalartist

Pic of the Week: Mila Libman Enchanted, 2025 Charcoal and pastel on paper 64 x 55 in In continued celebration of Earth Day and a little nod to our current exhibition The Language of Trees, this week’s Pic of the Week highlights Enchanted (2025) by Mila Libman. Rendered in charcoal and pastel, the work captures a quiet, almost otherworldly intimacy between viewer and nature—where texture, shadow, and gesture echo the hidden rhythms of the natural world. Libman’s layered marks invite us to slow down and listen, reminding us that trees hold stories far older than our own, if only we take the time to see and feel them. This piece is featured in our current exhibition on view through May 5th. Hope you get the chance to view it in person. #contemporarydrawings #artcollector #earthday #graphitedrawing #artgallery

ART in NATURE pic(s) of the week Andy Goldsworthy @andygoldsworthyofficial Kicking off Earth Day 2026 💚 Remember to hug a tree today, stop and wonder at a rock, put your toes in the sand, look up at the clouds, pick up a piece of trash you might see in front of you and simply take a minute to breathe in the outdoor air and say thank you to our Mother Earth. 🌳. This week’s art in nature post features one of our favorite art in nature artists: Andy Goldsworthy. He has an ability to commune with nature in a way like no other. Goldsworthy is internationally recognised for his work with natural materials such as clay, stones, reeds, branches, leaves, snow and ice. Over fifty years, he has created a unique and highly influential body of work that speaks of our relationship with the land. #earthday2026 #communewithnature #thankmotherearth #andygoldsworthyart #hugatree
