This time of year is the perfect reminder to make sure your saddle is still fitting as well as it should—longer days and better weather usually mean more riding, and often, fitter horses too… Nessy being the perfect example!
Just 2 months after being fitted with her beautiful @batessaddles Isabell Icon saddle, we’ve been focusing on a strengthening and fitness programme—more hacking, water treadmill sessions, and stepping up our schooling.
At yesterday’s check, Sarah’s template showed just how much Nessy has changed in that short time—she’s really trimmed up and needed a smaller gullet. Luckily, the Isabell is fully adjustable, so with a quick tweak from Sarah, we were good to go again 🙌

🌱 Dynamite’s growing like a weed at the moment, already standing taller than Spice! Whilst we’re choosing to take the rest of the year steady giving her time to mature into her big frame, she is changing shape and was due a saddle check with @sbsaddlefitting today to make sure her saddle is still sitting comfortably. Thank you Sarah for making some small adjustment’s to her saddle set-up to keep us going for a little while longer! Tiny is currently ridden in Spice’s gorgeous cherry 🍒red @albionsaddlemakers Fabrento… Maybe she’ll be lucky enough to have her own Albion saddle one day! 💕

Multitasking at its finest 😂 Inhand raised pole work is such a useful tool for strengthening our horses. For Eddie it’s always been a big part of his rehab and for coco it’s useful prehab to make sure that she stays strong and supple and she feels the best she can to avoid any problems and making sure she has the best back to fit her @albionsaddlemakers saddle 😍 even just 15 mins once a week can make a difference to your horse and is a nice easy low impact high benefit session to add in if you’re short on time with these darker winter nights. We did these poles 5 times on each rein 💪🏻
